We need more participation in this torrent. Carl is giving away all the 3dxtract mags. Almost 600MBS worth of high quality Carrara, Hex, Amapi tuts. Just requires some participation. I suggest utorrent, but you can use Azureus, Bittorrent etc...No need to think outside the box....

I don't have and won't install any of those file sharing trojans. To many horror stories and I don't like people having access to my computer.

beryld,
I understand. I am not a fan of them myself. There are always security issues to consider, even with email. They aren't trojans tho. bittorrent, azureus, and utorrent (mypref) are just programs like a telnet or ftp app.

Make all the fun you want of me. So I'm ignorant, right on.. Better that than an ***hole.

Well firstly, you will find that software publishers are starting to distribute their products to customers because 1. It keeps their bandwith costs down, thus enabling a cheaper product and 2. It is easier for their customers to have quick access to larger files. As ren_mem pointed out, it is no less secure than I.E. email, ftp or even skype.
Secondly, I'm not going to even bite at your personal judgements of me...I was just commenting on you understanding of the subject.
Cheers

I guess this was a nice idea, but it's pointless because nobody is sharing the full file. As of last night and again this morning, it appears that four people are sharing a grand total of 0.4% of the file. Too bad.

Update: I see that Carl is claiming he's still seeding the file, but I'm not the only one who isn't seeing this. I wonder if his client is set up properly?

How about trying one of those file uploading services like yousendit? Might be less hasstle then a torrent.
xoconostle posted Wed, 31 May 2006 at 8:58 PM
Fortunately, I was wrong, and don't want to discourage anyone from trying to get the files.
For some reason, both the default BitTorrent client and Azureus weren't finding the seeders, only a few leechers with partial files. It was suggested to me that I try uTorrent, and indeed it instantly found the seeders ... three of them online as I type this, with a download time of about two and a half hours.

I just wanted to say a big thanks to Carl for all of this wonderful content. Very kind of him.

Got em! It took me over five hours, and my darn laptop "went to sleep" once, but luckily my download manager was able to pick up where it had left off previously. It was definitely worth it. Thank you so much for your generosity Carl!
