I've been using Vue Esprit since 4, and I am finally getting to the point where I can really find tha balance between image quality and render time. However, one of my scenes that I did recently took outrageously long to render for no reason that I can think of aside from boolean objects.
Sine Vue 4 didn't have boolean functions, in the past I have done all my modelling in Blender or another modeling program or I have found pre-made objects for another source. Now that I have 5, I figured I'd try out the functions, for a simple thing like a table, chairs and a doorway. So I set up a scene with one partial poser figure and some stuff I made in Vue. It takes ages to render even on Superior (I usually render on Ultra if I can). I have checked all the usual suspects, radiosity, volumetric atmosphere and other effects and none are on. All I can figure is that Vue takes ages to render things that are boolean. Has anyone else had this problem? Should I just go back to Blender (or my newly purchased Hexagon). Or should I export the items as OBJ files then reimport them?
I've made scenes that are far more complicated with tons of poser figures and volumetric lighting and they render faster than this scene.
