Hi folks,

I did not have much time to post about my new character Grendizer (aka Goldrake, aka Goldorak). I started from a 3DS file I found on the web and used C4D and the "replace with props" features.

After some troubleshootings in importing, coloring and scaling, I finally obtained an affordable character that I remapped with UVMapper.

The archive includes template and texture. I did not have much time to work on the texture, so feel free to create new ones.

I'm currently preparing an alternative character for Combat scenes, coming with props. See below a few renders of my WIPS.

I just wish someone could create a few extra props or character on the same topic (ships, ennemies, aso).

Enjoy and please feel free to comment.

Yah I saw that! Cool character. I remember seeing it on TV as part of the "Force Five" line up. Other shows included Dangard Ace, Starvengers (getter robo), Gaiking and some robotless show about a space princess or something. Grendizer was the best of the five. So, you putting out the saucer too?

Just took a trip in the way-back machine (aka looked it up in a 1980 issue of Fangoria that was in the basement) and the robotless show was Space Musketeers. The Force Five show never really took off and Showtime condensed episodes from the shows into movies in like '81 - '82. Grendizer was awsome, but that didn't keep me from getting bored with my Revel Grendizer model kit and blowing it up with firecrackers one summer. A sad day now that I look back...

Thank you very much for doing one of my Anime Heroes from my time as a little boy!

If by my life or death I can protect you, I will!

Hate to be a wet blanket here (or maybe I misread what you typed above; text emphasized) Do you have permission to convert the 3DS model to Poser format?

dlfurman>> The original 3DS character was given for free download on a Fan site and for any use but commercial, which is not the case anyway as specified in the "Readme & disclaimer" text file included in the archive...

This is Fan stuff for fans only anyway :)

Great job on the poserization. So where is this site with 3DS stuff? Any other giant robos there?

Unfortunately no other Robot available ... I'm currently preparing a Props pack coming with the saucer and a few weapons (axe and other) ... I'd like to create a brand new character as one of the Goldo's foes ...

Stay tuned :)
