Btw;
Members who have the nudity set in their profile to not be shown will now see the "Content Advisory" thumbnail. Yet...if you do go ahead and click on it, you will see the nudity so if you don't want to see it, don't click on the "Content Advisory" thumbs!
Just fyi.

ok the link at the top of the page worked, thank god I was alone in the room, I think maybe I shoule be clicking that nudity option, I'm just a bit pissed that they aren't strict about the thumbnail nudity. Friggin cats everywhere!

I'm getting the nudity (boy am I getting nudity, in fact, I'm hardly getting anything else) in the thumbnails..gad, I feel like a gynocologist..I've double-checked my nudity settings, and they're set to block. Is it a Firefox thing?
Hope they fix it, or I'll have to leave off the lunchtime browsing..:|

If you make a favourites / bookmark link to the "what's new" section and use that as your entry to the galleries instead of the page Renderosity want you to enter at, you'll be a lot less troubled by nudity. Default displaying of most viewed / most commented sections is going to result in exposure to Poser porn for everyone whose nudity blocks aren't working.

Thank you AS for the direct link to Bryce
Question--- if R'osity generates a thumb, I'm assuming it is a reduced full image. If that is the case then when an upload doesn't flag nudity or violence the the created thumb will show it all, no matter what member options were selected by a viewer, right? Or is going to be just some generic thumb?
I am proud that the Bryce community self controls itself so much better at this than some of the other galleries.
I posted at community forum that member's most recent viewed needs to be deleted. I'm surprised the rights to privacy issue hasn't been infringed upon.

I am assuming so, yes. But, this would be the same situation that has happened countless times before before the PHP switchover. Which is why everyday the Mods go through their respective forums, checking to make sure each image falls in line with the TOS, if it doesn't we flip the nudity/violence tag.

Having witnessed the 'new-look' PHP galleries, and, after much cursing, thrashing around, and general throwing of furniture, I've come to compile this short list of trifling concerns:
When I click a gallery thumbnail image I expect to be taken to a page showing the image in FULL, opposed to yet another reduced eye-squinting offering! It's also the most pointless of implementations as the 'zoomed out' image that you see load is no quicker than loading the image in full, since when you click this smaller image it immediately opens the full image already completely loaded. Further still, the full image shown in the separate pop-up window is smaller than the image it contains, and thus requires yet more stuffing around to resize the window. Please, please, please do away with this most antagonising of new features! - if -only- this feature - as it only serves to frustrate, and completely ruins the whole gallery-viewing experience.
When viewing an image on it's own page, the image title should ideally be centered above it (as per old forum.)
The artist's caption for their image should not appear in a separate box below, but instead sit directly underneath and within the same space as the image, so as to better associate the caption with the artwork, and also to avoid it looking like one of the feedback comments. (again, as per old forum.)
I'm not too fussed about 2 and 3, but concern number 1 is just unacceptable.

ok..solved part of the problem. I went into my preferences (once I puzzled out where they are...now..;), and resubmitted after double-checking the flags. The more egregious pics are gone away, but it still defaults to 'most viewed'... Still getting the occasional 'woop der it is'.sigh...;)
.Welp, I'll just have to check galleries at home (as much as I like Bryce, I also stop by 3d max, Vue, Rhino, yada yada..;). But at least I'm still gainfully employed..;)
that still leaves the freebies and forums, so it's not a total loss..;)

A dumb question that I really don't need an answer to cause I probably won't visit the galleries in general anyhow, buttttt......
I get a page that shows new images but no next page button. And when I go to chose a gallery there is no option to just view all that have been recently posted or am I missing something here? And if I'm not making sense, what I'm saying is ... old way, you saw all the posts from recent going to old, which change quite frequently. But you could keep clicking to see older and older. Now it seems you are stuck with just one page of those type. So you have to know what gallery you want to see someone's work in. Am I making any sense or have I gone off the deep end of sanity again?
:P
AgentSmith posted Wed, 14 June 2006 at 11:09 PM
I get a page that shows new images but no next page button
The main Gallery link page shows 18 "What's New" images, and that's it. No "Next link. I'm sure this is to help strain on the server, as a lot of people go to that first "Gallery" page but after that first page, they go to the area that interests them, and that first page request would look at "What's New" for 15 days, now it just looks at 18 images.
And when I go to chose a gallery there is no option to just view all that have been recently posted.
That's what it should default to, and also actually there are still links to view;
[what's new] [most viewed] [most commented] [best ratings] [by artist]
Those links are right under the "browse by section" drop down list, and the page numbers to keep viewing previous images should be at the top and the bottom of the table that holds the thumbnails.
Hope that helps!

AS,
I thought I already had you on my list - so you'll now have 91.:sneaky:
Mind you things are still not working right - I added you to my list and then tried to go from your homepage (difficulty in finding the 'add this artist' option so I opened another tab with your R'osity homepage before remembering that you need an individual image open to find that option - silly that) to your Gallery by clicking on the AgentSmith's gallery link on that page... I got the "What's new" page...
Also your "proud to be featured on" thingie doesn't show up.
Just for when you have time to sort out your own stuff with all the hassle of Rosity's change-over.
I was actually pleasantly surprised by the new Galleries and just in time too, as I wanted to upload something after so long a break.

Greetings Everyone,
For the new PHP look, I'm at a mix of feelings. The new features seem great. However, nagivation seems not to be very intuitive--I'm getting lost too easily.
A few gripes:
Some of the layout seems very good. I really like how when I click my gallery page the overall layout of it is pretty nice, although for older images in my gallery the captions are a bit strange with "uploaded ago" having missing the number of days.
The "tool tips" that appears when the mouse moves over a thumbnail is annoying. It appears too quickly--would be nice to have a delay, or an option for a delay. I've done this in my own pages so I know it can be done.
I guess what I am looking for is the ease of use as the old design had. Like the archives being right up there on top of the gallery.

Where the heck can I find the Bryce homepage?
And um, did it occur to those responsible for the new site design to include a direct link to the Bryce Gallery from the Bryce Forum (and vice-versa)?
I thought change would be for the better; apparently not.

And how do I change that HORRIBLE GLARING EYE-BURNING WHITE BACKGROUND to a soothing neutral tone???!!!

While we're on the topic of all things HORRIBLE, I read somewhere that it's possible to have gallery images display at full size on their detail page, as opposed to being spat in the face by the current shrunken image on offer. Could someone please inform me of how to achieve this so I can breathe easy, if not just to allow me release from my virtual padded cell.

Go to your gallery. At the top, there should be a link to edit your options. Click the link and once there, you'll see a list of options you can choose to tic your choice of how your gallery images show.
At least that's what I did and now they are no longer resized. At least not from my computer.
Hope this helps.

Ah, new options at last - thanks for the info, ariannah.
I see the ability to 'zoom-in' still exists even when the images are already at 100%. What continues to irk me is that -other- people viewing artworks will unknowingly be staring at reduced images, unless they too alter their options (options that seem to exist haphazardly around the site, and in excrutiatingly difficult-to-find locations).
