HELLO!!!
I use poser 6. The characters I use often have hair that is not textured, so it looks like plastic. I would like to make their hair look more real, but I don't know how to go about doing it. Can someone pleaes point me towards a tutorial or something on how to start making plastic looking hair more real? THANKS!!!!!!!!!!!!

What hair are you using.
Real looking hair uses transmaps and texture maps together. You could also go to the hair room and create your own dynamic hair. I think there are hair caps in P6 to start you off. You can go one step further and use a transmapped hair with a dynamic hair.

I use animedoll hair. Do you know of any tutorials on how to get started with transmapping?

Animedall hair is made to look like that. It's for cellshading/anime look. That is not easy hair to do it with. I took a quick look at it and your going to have to run it through something like UVMapper Classic, which is Free. Make a texture template. Then try to create a texture. I wouldn't bother with a transmap.
There are some great hairs out ther for free. Maya Studio has quite a few as well as Koz/ Digital Babes2.com.
There is also the A3 animie Hair at Daz that is great and is textured the way I would do the ones you want. If you have Koshini, her hair is mapped the same way. I think A3's are just refit Koshini hair.
PoserPros has a hair modeling forum that I'm sure most of the questions you want to know, can be found there.
