Hi,

I would appreciate your advice on how to improve rendering of the Kozaburo's "Short bob" hair...

post render (in Poser 4 mode) I get this somewhat fuzzy image...

Thank you in advance...

Do you have anti aliasing turned on?

My idea of rebooting is kicking somebody in the butt twice!

I do believe there was something on Koz' page, regarding Poser5/Poser 6 renders...I see if I can remember the gist of it....ah yes, you need "texture filtering" switched on for the firefly render, not sure if that affects the P4 render engine as well?

BrokenAngel9 is correct you must have the box marked "texture Filtering" checked in order for the hair to look right in P5/6. As a matter of fact I think this goes for all the Koz hair props. If you are rendering using the p4 render engine this would not apply. But make sure that you have the "Anti-Alias" option checked.

Don't use Texture filtering.  It will eat up memory like crazy, and may do bad things to other textures in your scene.

Instead, lower the shading rate.  (Of the hair, in Properties, and in your Render Options.)

This will slow the render down, so you might want to wait until the final render.  I use a shading rate of 0.01-0.05 for Koz's hair.

See the link for more details.

Thank you guys for the replies....

I use P6 but prefer rendering in P4 mode (since it is much faster). When I turn on the anti Alias option, rendering time tends to increase substantially....

I guess if I want to get the good quality image then have to accept its downside too...

Thank you very much for all your helps....

Cheers

Tsk, using Carrara for rendering makes you forgot the simplest things! What Randym said!
