Following this month's challenge topic, I've been trying differents method to get some nice looking skies, and on tric I found really interesting was to use volumetric mats on a sphere with radial lights inside.. I let you look a the results.

Very nice clouds there. If you had red/orange lights, you could make pretty good fire or explosion effects (... now fires up Bryce to experiment) ;)

Yes loads of questions, well one important one - how did you do it? Especially the cloud bit.

Sure Bryster, those lightnings are called "sprites" ( if I remember well ) and even some are red!

I have one question pidjy: How did you put the smoketrails on the wings in your pic "Night Flight Over Storm" ? It looks very elegant; it doesn't look like postwork... :-)
pidjy posted Thu, 22 June 2006 at 11:31 AM
Attileus, the smoketrail on the wings are postwork, it's made with photoshop..
FranOnTheEdge posted Fri, 23 June 2006 at 3:02 PM
Oh and I meant how did you do the clouds in the second pic, not the first one???
You wouldn't have a tut hanging about would you?
