Can anyone help me find japanese world war 2 military uniforms for poser?
Darboshanski posted Fri, 16 June 2006 at 10:49 PM
Wow that a tuff one. There is little in the way of WWII items and any articles Japanese even more so. I know Panko over at vanishing point has axis weapons with some Japanese era rifles and side arms but that's all that I know of as far as Japanese WWII items.
I hope you find what you're looking for. My only other suggestion is if you are a Poserworld member maybe you could have Steve Shanks look into modeling a uniform ( Sorry Steve didn't mean to add to your ever growing list mate..LOL).
Cheers,
Micheál

s site.

Something to do with Internet Explorer and Javascript settings.
Other web browsers don't seem to work.
try:
Go to opening page, click on Enter; after Entering, click on Free Stuff.
If that is a problem, try the entered (second) page:
http://www5d.biglobe.ne.jp/~oedo_s/neo_oedo.html
Click Free Stuff
You will be re-directed to:
http://siosai2.qp.land.to/
Going directly to http://siosai2.qp.land.to/ will not work.
Siosai has set up the links very strictly.
I can't get to the freebies if I use Firefox web browser and go drectly tothe freebies section.
In the Freebies, click item 12 on the left-hand menu - Military-related freebies, mostly Japanese Imperial Army.

I just tried that and get a "403 Forbidden" error

Well, it is very strange that Siosai has made it so difficult to get his free stuff !
Hmmm.
I don't undertand how or why he makes his webpages so difficult to reach, especially since he really has a huge collection of freebies (Military items = category number 12 !)
Anyway, hopefully, some people can get them.
Acadia - thanks for sharing you links too.

Yes, that link works in IE. I get to the page, click "Enter" and get to the next page too.
The problem is when I click "Free Stuff". I get taken to a "403 Forbidden" page.

Thanks for the feedback guys. I went to the link and was able to enter the freebise section but I didnt find any japanese uniform. There was a barracks tho.

You sometimes get the 403 forbidden error if you have the security in internet explorer set too high or it could be your firewall software.
xantor posted Sat, 17 June 2006 at 10:13 PM
Trexsis if you use the soldier helmet from the siosai site and the US paratrooper uniform from the link, then you should get fairly close to a japanese soldier uniform.

I've never seen Japanese uniforms over the years. Siosai's accessories are probably the closest you'll find and all of his models seem to be excellent quality - check out the other categories. I'd take Xantor's suggestion and try to fake the pants and blouse/jacket. Siosai has just about everything else you'd need.

there used to be a place called 'GI Poser', that might have had them. If it was pictures, you could get them through the Wayback Machine..but unfortunately that's all you can get. Wonder if anyone knows what happened to the original site.

I'm behind a router so I turned off my software firewall. I was able to get to the free stuff area using Mozilla-Firefox without any difficulty.
Some great looking models there :)

Wonder if anyone knows what happened to the original site. The GI Poser site doesn't seem to be around, but at that link is some information on GI Poser including the name of the owner of it. If you click the name "Noric", you get an email window. Perhaps send and email and ask?

Hello
I can access to Siosai's FreeStuff pages using firefox 1.5.0.4.
http://siosai2.qp.land.to/12-001.html
There are military items without uniforms.
May be you can use aio's (aoaio onRendarosity) Uniform2 for M3 with some modifications.
http://poserg.sakura.ne.jp/index.html
Click "Free Download" on top page and select "Uniform2 for M3".
Good luck.

Now where do I get the cap with the ear flaps which is the iconic symbol of the japanese foot soldier?

This person definitely has the items, but I have no idea from where. I don't follow that blog because it glorifies the Japanese military past in the first half of the 20th Century, and it is not to my taste.

Thanks for the link. But I went to his download page and there's no items there

Trexsis, I believe the links are scattered around his blog, but you need to read Japanese to understand his commentary. I don't really like that blog, so I don't follow it. Sorry. Perhaps you can browse through the blog entries and check some of the links. He hasn't put his WW2 items up in the PoserClub Japan Downloads section.

if you do a search in Google for the URL, you may see a 'translate' this page; not always spot-on, but sometimes it can help a bit. Whaddaya got to lose?..;)
