It seems that the File Lockers have not been working for quite a while now... possibly 2 months or more. Any idea when they will be fixed? I'm not too happy about paying for something that's been broken for so long.

File locker is working...however, The links have chaged and now start with camelot.renderosity.com rather than www.renderosity.com
Thanks
Neyjour posted Sat, 17 June 2006 at 10:29 PM
So does that mean I have to resubmit all my freebies to the Free Stuff section here?

No you don't have to do that for previously uploaded freestuff items:)

Oh good. But... I was just at my freebies page before posting this thread and none of my thumbnails are showing up. I also tried downloading one of my freebies and got an error message.

This is the error message I'm getting:
The requested URL /artistdownload.ez was not found on this server.
The URLs are showing up as renderosity.com, not camelot.renderosity.com

I tried one of the downloads using the url "http://camelot.renderosity.com/artistdownload.ez?fileid=*****&key=******" {which I had to type 'camelot' manually in place of 'www'} and got this error: "Sorry, this member's monthly bandwidth allowance has been exceeded."Weird. Im sure Stac can get a grip on it soon as she can and let ya know something...Im thinking it has to do with the .ez stuff somehow...
Nic posted in another thread about anything being on .ez would soon disappear: {see link}
"Any links pointing to http://www.renderosity.com/[anything].ez will no longer work. To get those links to work, please change "www" to "camelot", i.e. http://www.renderosity.com/homepage.ez would become http://camelot.renderosity.com/homepage.ez.
Please keep in mind that forwarding will only exist from this location for another month or so. Eventually, when the conversion is over, all the .ez applications will be removed, and forwarding will no longer function. So you have until then to click on all your links and find out where they forward you, then update those links with the new addresses.

Yep, same for me. The URL's are correct in the File Locker, but when you click to download and get that error message, the URL in the browser is still the old www.renderosity.com

Looks good.
Could someone try downloading one of mine please? Reason I'm asking is because previously I had been able to download my own files, but no one else could.

No, your files are still giving a "bandwidth exceeded" error message.

I have to say, I'm getting pretty ticked off with this. I know you guys are busy with other things, but this is a service I'm paying for, and these issues with the File Lockers have been going on for a rediculously long time now.

Neyjour, I just went to free stuff and was able to download your free items...no problem at all.
The URL is showing camelot for me.
If your running windows check your hosts file and make sure it doesnt have an entry for Renderosity hard coded in there.
Windows/System32/drivers/etc/hosts
Its a text file and can be opened with notepad.
If it does - remove it.

The bandwidth exceeded is something the programmers will have to look into.
I checked into the orginal problem report of the URL being wrong and the files not being available.

Thank you Stacey.
I was finally able to upload my file at around 8am this morning. It took a really long time, but it eventually went through. There was also a slight glitch when I tried to upload the thumb. The page reloaded as though it had been uploaded, but it wasn't on the list, so I tried uploading again and then it worked.
As for the bandwidth exceeded message, I thought that had been fixed. I created a dummy account about a week or so ago (so I wouldn't have to pester anyone again to check and see if the download was working) and was able to download a file. But I just logged in the dummy account and yes, I'm also getting the same bandwidth exceeded error again.

I checked and it appears the stats on your File Locker page are incorrect if your paying for the File locker service. It shows that you have used up all of your monthly bandwidth.
I'll have to ask JenyK to look into this. I'll alert her to the post.

Thank you Clint.
Yes, something is definitely wrong there. There's no way I could have used up all my monthly bandwidth.
Here's the stats that I can see under my File Locker:
You have a maximum of 150 MBytes for your upload area. You have used 9.71 MBytes (6.5 %) of that space.
You have a maximum monthly bandwidth allowance of 3 GBytes. You have used 0.0250 GBytes (0.8 %) of that allowance so far this month.

Those looked very cool. Thanks for them.

Thanks for checking Unicornst. And you're very welcome. I hope you enjoy them.
Well, I don't know what the hell is going on with this and It's starting to seriously piss me off. I just checked and I'm still getting the same thing... no thumbs and the same stupid error message.
Why can some people download and others can't? And when this mess first started I was able to see and download everything with no poblem, but others couldn't. Now it's the other way around.

Why can some people download and others can't?
Same situation here - the links changed again a few days ago (no longer 'camelot'), so I've updated all of my links to be correct. I can download files fine, but others are getting the
"Sorry, this member's monthly bandwidth allowance has been exceeded.315485|0"
...message. My bandwidth usage is only at like 17%, so something screwy is going on (you can try some of the file links at the bottom of this page ).
Could someone look into this?
