Subject: Morph as child of bodypart ???

Hello,

I want to use an dynamic-cloth like an conforming-cloth.

So the idea is to make for example an chest turn-right for an swimsuit as morph (clothify)

Then I want to append this morph to the parent figure. If this figur now bend right the morph will raise to 1 and so the figure has an conforming-dynamic cloth :)

-Advantage is also to can lie the cloth to the bottom or hang it over a chair with a clothify-morph all with one cloth.

Do anyone know, if this function is implemented in Poser or there is an pythonscript for that???

I thank you very much for any info.

it has been done before, I have a dynamic dress, which was downloaded from free stuff here, think its called the posh dress or something.... anyways, the top half of the dress is conforming, and the lower half dynamic.... not sure how youd do it though.....

I think that I kinda understand what you are trying to do.  What I would do, is to texture the dynamic swimsuit by how you would like to group it, i.e: hip, chest, lCollar, rCollar, etc in different colors.  Next, clothify the swimsuit to however you pose the figure.  Export the mesh from Poser, and import into Hexagon or whatever modeler you choose.   Then, divide the mesh  by the appropriate group, and save the respective groups as: chest_breast5.obj, lCollar_armoverhead.obj. 

Next, take the original swimsuit.obj, and group it how you want it to conform.  Using QuickConform, or Poser's Setup room, create the cr2 for the swimsuit.  Next, click on the appropriate body parts, and load each morph target you made earlier.  I can't seem to find it, but there is a great tutorial on loading altered geometry as morphs, and creating a partial and full body morph.  I hope this helps, -Starkdog

I also think I understand what you are wanting to do, but I don't see any way it is going to work how you think it might...

First, let's start with some assumptions...

1. You can create morphs from cloth room simulations.
2. You can get those morphs applied to a conforming figure

  1. The morphs could be hooked in to automagically set them selves based on certain poses (Joint Controlled Morphs).

So let's assume for the sake of discussion that all of those assumptions are true (and I think they are).  Now lets look at what happens in reality when you are trying to come up with the morphs...

If you do a chest-twist action and run a cloth simulation on the suit to come up with your 'chest twist' morph,  that morphed cloth would contain not only the draping of the cloth in that twisted pose, it would also contain the 'twist' itself and yet the 'twist' part of it is going to already be applied to the suit based on it being a conforming figure.

Just to complicate things further... what happens when you bend and twist at the same time?  What about bending backwards?  How many of these 'dynamic morphs' are you going to create? and how will they interact with one another, let alone the bends/twists applied by the conforming code?

So I think the answer to your specific question is - no, that's not really practical.

On the other hand, (and despite Starkdog's advice above to the contrary), there's no reason to break the mesh up into 'separate meshes'.  The mesh can be one continuously welded surface and still be grouped as a conforming figure (all of my meshes are a single welded mesh - with groups).  Which means that you could load it in as a dynamic prop and create a 'fold over chair' morph and then transfer that morph to the conforming item (I'd have to investigate how to go about transfering that 'full body' type morph to the clothing, but there is an app in freestuff somewhere that will do that).

Thank you for your ideas.

I asked also philc and maybe there is an solution in my way, but only maybe.

I heard, that the conforming prozess is made in poser intern, not in .cr2.

If I have an example, that is funcitonable I will tell it to you.
