Hi Forum, I did my first wavefront import and there is a funny bland patch on my hires jessie figures hip area?! I am just practicing, so it isn't the pose or anything I care about, only getting a figure to import correctly. The pic is nude only cause I will learn clothes after I learn the basic function. I meant no offense. So can a more advanced person help me here? ThanX so much.

Could be light reflecting off the sphere.

I, too, would have thought that. But it was like that before I added the sphere...I just didn't think about it at the time til I rendered! :)

I see it on the bottom of the arm as well, which seems to indicate a reflection of some kind.

If you post a screen capture of the wirefram we might be able to spot something, I too would guess this is reflected light....

Well if it's not coming from the sphere you might be getting reflection from sunlight off the body itself. Try a render where the camera is looking slightly down on the points of intrest instead of slightly up to it - if the shinyness goes away chances are the OBJs material mapping is allowing some metaliic or glassy shinyness. You could do a study with metalic spheres with different camera angles(HI/LO) and check the results to verify this.
I've also noticed sunlight angles in Bryce never seem exactly right. You have to compensate by moving the sun until the lighing is what you want.

Do you have any lights other than the sun? It looks like there might be a gel image on the light - that' s why I ask.

I found what it was! I had added a Spot to enhance the face and the side was lighter because of the angtle of the sun in the sky! Gosh I am sorry to have bothered the forum with such a stupid question! I need to examine before I post...... *blush I'll be more careful next time.

Yep, questions only ever seem dumb when you know the answer, this forum is top notch for getting answers to almost anything, mainly bryce related, but not always :)

ThanX! I think trying to learn 4 programs at once is contributing to my confusion! LOL!!!
I am learning Bryce, Shade, Hexagon and now Carrara! My brain is closely related to a French Fry at this time! LOL!
