Just how much manipulation of a fractal, or combining of fracals with photos or other fracals is permissable before you no longer consider it a fracal? And where do you post it then, if say you've disassembled a couple of flames and reassembled them into something else? Or combined a fractal and a photo or just messed around with it? Does it go into mixed media then?

Thanks, Rita

i'm under the impression that it doesn't matter as long as the main focus was a fractal.

Thanks for the reply. Wasn't sure what the policy was. Guess I'll just post as fractals until I get called on doing so

Even though my images aren't about fractals, I've uploaded them to the fractal gallery because a fractal generator made them. I may stack many fractals together and blur their nature that way, but there's still some underlying fractality about them.

From my viewpoint I would love to see fractals become as much a tool as a end product. This site is, or should be, one for promoting digital art - in all its forms. Spirals and pretty patterns are great, but let's see some more creative usages too.

Thanks all of you for replying. Part of the fun of fractals for me is seeing what I can make of them. I wasn't sure if this was the place to post those, or if they should go under mixed media. I sort of like mixing pieces of fractals, pieces of photos, or just pieces of fractals layered to make something entirely different then the original fractals were. Not good at it .. but I keep trying
