Hi folks! I just wanted to make a remark about the photography gallery, and see if some of you have noticed the same thing... Here it is: I'm surprised to see so many uploads in the gallery these days. I have the impression that there are much more images posted daily, and many more participants than I have ever seen. So many new names... which leads me to the happy conclusion that the gallery is more alive than ever!! Do some of you have the same impression? You turn your back and go out for a while, and there are four new pages bursting with exciting uploads when you return. I can hardly keep up with the pace... LOL

Yes i have, and think that the new layout is becoming way more popular.
I also notice a high standard of images being uploaded.

Some of the changes around here over recent months have definitely been for the better !

And every one said, 'If we only live,
We too will go to sea in a Sieve,---
To the hills of the Chankly Bore!'
Far and few, far and few, Are the lands where the Jumblies live;
Their heads are green, and their hands are blue, And they went to sea in a Sieve.

From experience, the galleries do get busier during the summer months when schools are out..

But, yes...it's good to see some new folks posting images.

A lot of new very talented artist ,yes. But they need comments to be encouraged to stay . I'm surprised to see how it's difficult for some of  them by this time .

Yes Gerrt I realized this happening too. In a morning with my first..second coffee I sit down and run through a forum after that go to the gallery. I stay about an hour. In afternoon roughly 5-6 o'cock do my second round to check all the freesh uploads what takes about an hour or so. Lately that time is not enough to see everybodies post.  I have to hop in the gallery between these time. Very good sign, a gallery growing lotca new names.

I see it too Geert. Lots of new faces, new talent. Lots of the old talent and faces too, though some sadly gone and missed. Still, I feel the gallery to be a vital place.

I don't know about the Photography gallery as a whole but I went to the Macro gallery yesterday and it was overflowing with pure, concentrated badass -- like a neutron star of badass.  Almost every photo uploaded within the last few days was miles ahead of anything I've ever done, just amazing stuff.  I binged.  It was only the second time I'd ever visited the Macro gallery but I have to say I definitely noticed an increase in awesomeness since the last time I was there, and I can say for sure I will be hanging out there often from now on.

If the Photo Gallery is indeed booming, I'm glad I get to be a part of it.
