I've been using M3 and the M3 beard for a long time now and never had any issues with the beard taking the morphs of the face, but D3's beard will not. I'm forced to try and match the beards morphs to a custom face I've made using the existing morphs. Is ther something I'm missing to make this happen.
Any help would be appreciated.

According to Daz it's caused by broken ERC. They're supposed to be working on a fix for it -- I think. Dunno when, though.

Well, that doesn't help with David getting a beard, but thanks for the info. I appreciate it.

Yeah, they say it's only the David beard that has this problem. But I know a few M3 beard owners -- myself included -- in the same situation. Just can NOT get the face morphs to work right. Hope they come up with a fix for it soon.

Normally I just select the head of the morphed character hit copy under edit and then go to the beard and select the head and hit paste. Works most of the time with a small tweak here and there.
I know there is an issue in DAZ studio though.

Yes, that should work, and maybe it does for some people. Maybe it's a different version, wasn't there an update to the M3 MilBeard? I bought mine only a month ago. But I wound up with big ugly dark patches all over when I tried fitting it to my Jinn character. Had to go with a bearded texture instead, fortunately I had one in the style I needed. (Thanks, Jepe!) And I was using Poser at the time, I dread to even imagine what it would look like in DS.

I am not sure. Sometimes things will double up when you copy but they should work for the most part. I am not familiar with the character (if it is a product out there) but they should work. If you post a screenshot I might be able .. The beard should have most of the morphs in there but it might miss something like scale neck if you used that.

Jinn is a custom morph. Have not been using the Mil Beard on him since I couldn't get it to work right. But I'll play around with it again & see what happens. Will have some screencaps later tonight or maybe tomorrow, the other renders were so damn fugly I trashed 'em all. :-(

How was the custome morph done? If it was done with the built in morph targets you should be okay. If it was done with other morphs then you might have problems. If you did it with your own morphs (with magnets or ZBrush etc) then you won't be able to match them up.
Byrdie posted Fri, 07 July 2006 at 9:15 PM
Occured to me just now that might be the problem. I used the Male Character Morphs Bundle, which has a heckuva lot more channels than the regular M3. Plus a few of his built-in morphs, so I'm not sure think the beard will work right at all in this case.
Ghostofmacbeth posted Fri, 07 July 2006 at 9:24 PM
Nope .. Unless the beard has matching morphs it won't work. Sorry. The best way to get around it is to use a texture map that has a beard or use the nodes in P5 or P6 if you have one of those.

Yeah, lucky for me Jepe's Movie Men has the perfect bearded texture for this guy. Just out of curiousity, how would I do it in P6 with nodes? Would like to someday share the character but if the MilBeard ain't gonna work I need to fake it with the (sadly still hairless!) maps I've been working on.
