I made a nude to post in the galleries...I made a Thumb that was done specifically to NOT show the Nude...and Ren's great new system made it's OWN thumb of the entire pick with full nudity showing...WHY did I waste my time making a thumb to be courteous of the subject being nude if it was superceeded by Ren's own system?
???????

You have to stick within the size restraints. I applaud you for making a pic to NOT show the nudity, but if your image is larger than 200 pixels by 200 pixels by 15kB, the system will reject it and create it's own thumbnail. N

It is possible that your software is not measuring 15k the proper way (just grasping at ideas here). Try editing it with, say, a 13k thumbnail and see if it accepts that one. If so, your software is underestimating the size of the thumbnail or underreporting it or something. N

The 15Kb that Rendo uses is 15000b. Not the standard 1Kb that is 1024b per K.
14.9Kb can be as much as 15257b. All of my thumbs are below 15000b, using the save-as .jpg convertor in PSP, and the options button leading to the JPEG Optimizer.
williamsn posted Mon, 10 July 2006 at 6:04 PM
Actually, vikinglady, we will reject thumbnails that are above 15360 bytes (the REAL 15 kilobytes) and accept anything 15360 bytes and below. You are correct, tho, that 15000 bytes is really 14.6 kilobytes. N

Hmmmm...didn't work at all! I downsized it to 80X79 and at 13.6kb....it still came up with the same pic as the thumb that was generated by Ren!? :S
Oh well...
I tried

That is weird. I can upload an image with a separate thumbnail just fine. :-/ I'm looking into it. N

ariana, you gotta delete the web resource from it prior to uploading.
Hawkfyr posted Mon, 10 July 2006 at 10:40 PM
Have you tried changing the name of the thumbnail?

bummer! I reckon this means we cain't have teensy-weensy thumbs at 80X80 or so  nor can we precede our thumb-names with the oft-berated ! symbol

Huh?...I'm not sure I follow.
I was serious about changing the name of the thumbnail.
Sometimes if a file fails, and you simply modify the file and re-upload it under the same name, the database will continue to load the first (unsuccessful) file.
It's a good practice to rename the file,by adding a character or two.
For example,...If "thumbnail.jpeg" fails,...I'll edit it and then rename the new version "thumbnail_2.jpeg"

I have had problems with uploading the correct sizes, but the upload won't take. I use Photoshop CS2. I vote that the problem is with R'osity's calculator. It seems I'm not the only one that had problems. However, today it seems to be working okay.

Mr. Praline: 'Ello, Miss? Owner: What do you mean "miss"?
Mr. Praline: I'm sorry, I have a cold. I wish to make a complaint!
Owner: We're closin' for lunch.
Mr. Praline: Never mind that, my lad. I wish to complain about this parrot what I purchased not half an hour ago from this very boutique.
Owner: Oh yes, the, uh, the Norwegian Blue...What's,uh...What's wrong with it?
Mr. Praline: I'll tell you what's wrong with it, my lad. 'E's dead, that's what's wrong with it!
