:b_stunned: i'm stunned! but delighted!!
In fact to say i am delighted would be an understatement. this is the first time where i have actually sat in front of a blank bryce "canvas" and set out to create something specifically for the challenge. I can understand that some people thought that the mountain in my image precluded it from a "sky" picture entry, but i did work a long time on the juxtaposition to ensure that the sky remained the focal point and dominant force of the image.i hope i was succesful in that respect.
i owe a great deal of thanks to many of you good folks on the rosity site, not least the ever talented ICM who started a thread on volumetric smoke and metaballs in which i skulked around in the background feeding of the experience of others like a bryce vampire. this led me to stephen rays gallery where i theived (sorry downloaded) his thunderhead cloud material which plays an important part in my image. the all knowing Agent Smith generously shared some fantastic cloud materials with us all and i took the opportunity to add to my library once again.
**pidjy **was working along the same volumetric cloud path as me and i'd like to thank him for his insight and inspiration.Skiwillgee deserves a special thanks for showing me the entry link as well as support.
Thank you to everyone who voted for my image..."what on earth is this guy wittering on about?" i hear you cry.."its only the monthly challenge for crying out loud!!"
well it may be only the monthly challenge to some, but to me, it's the only thing i've ever won and i'm holding it in the highest regard!!
now apparently i have to come up with some fiendish theme to get yer creative juices flowing, so i will sit and contemplate awhile......(mind goes blank)...
Thanks again to all

Cheers!

Well done everyone especially Donnie! I don't like to point this out but I counted that I recieved 11 points so would'nt that place me 3rd? Sorry Skiwillgee!!!!
skiwillgee posted Tue, 11 July 2006 at 4:34 PM
Before I or AS even has a chance to recount, I'm abdicating 3rd to master orbital. Orbital's atmoshperes greatly influenced my choosing this challenge.
Congrats to all and thanks for the votes I did get. It was fun. In the process I learned some tricks in sky lab and came up with a couple WIP scenes that I just need a good image subject. I'm happy.

skiwillgee is correct, Orbital is the 3rd Place Winner
3rd Place Winner

My apologies, I count everything up a few times in a few different ways, but obviously it came down to not being able to read my own handwriting this time.
Sorry!

Thanks AS, on the original score there would have been a tie for third including skiwillgee, Dan Whiteside, and your good self, but then I also noticed that Skiwillgee had actually got 9 points so whatever!!!!!! Also thanks to Skiwillgee for coming up with the theme, most enjoyable!!!!!
