hiya
I've searched but I haven't found anything on this anywhere.
I've added a displacement map to a current texture and I am trying to create a pose file for it but no matter what I do it leaves out the displacement.
MPE doesn't have a line for displacement maps. I've tried manually editing the pz2 but I must be doing it wrong because it's just not adding it. I've tried saving it as an cr2 and editing out what isn't needed and it still isn't adding the map or settings. I even bought a shader created by poseworks (beautiful program btw) and saved the pose file from within poser with it. (like I said.. awesome programing), but when I run the pose file it still doesn't add the displacement map or settings
PLEASE HELP!!! I'm pulling out my hair!!!
Rosetta
-EDIT- I am using poser 6 :)

skip MPE and save as mt5 file?
Rosetta posted Wed, 12 July 2006 at 2:07 PM
I need for others to be able to use it. Can I do that with an mt5?

if MPE was originally created for p4, how many of yer clients are still using p4? they're the only ones that need material files in the form of pz2 files, and of course there's no displacement in P4.

one other question though. are mt5 files usable in Daz|Studio?

Quote - - I really hadn't considered that. I guess I should have asked sooner. BEFORE I pulled out my hair hehe. :)

I'm fairly certain they aren't, so you'll need to set the displacement up in D|S and save presets for the materials for use with D|S.

Well I was able to save it out as a mc6 file then edit that and created a pz2 file that works!!! and adds displacment!!! but it doesn't work for Daz studio, well it works but it doesn't add the displacment.
So I guess I can make the file work for p5 and p6 but not D|S in that way.
I'll have to make a seperate DS set up for it. Thanks for the help

If your using transparency, don't forget that you'll need to adjust those settings in D|S, as it uses opacity rather than transparency.

I have a headache
:)
I've used trans maps before this is just my first time with displacement. Thanks a ton for everything.
Now I just have to figure out how to set up a DS structure. I wish the programs would play nice with each other. this is becoming more of a pain then I planned for. Just adding displacment maps to a project has created a headache. :)
