I was contacted early this month by a large marketing firm about the purchase of two photos to be used in a promotional campaign. World wide unlimited print and internet usage with exclusive rights 1 year renewable.
I have to say it was out of the blue and quite exciting. It posted a large problem for me though. I did a lot of research and there is really no accurate pricing model that I could find. The last thing I wanted to do was
grossly under price them.
I settled on a price per image, but I'm curious what other members might have done. I would be interested in hearing some thoughts about pricing a
license for usage similar to this?

Congrats for this very good news...
I don't know the price in all country but i can to say you the price i use for mine and i think i have a very good price. For this price you need to see distinct points : size - hours/work - program using ...
I think my best price for a good spanish compagnie is €1257.45 for 1 year of distribution with 3 photos of model man only and in 4000x2000...The price normal for 1 photo for 1 year is between 300 and 800€... well, this price is very good because is spanish. I think is little more expansive in USA or other country
Here, in RR, i think you can to ask more information with nattarious (member section photo) for the price
in my thread http://www.renderosity.com/mod/forumpro/showthread.php?thread_id=2654097 "interesting law of copyright photo" in juin 25, you can to see the distinct contrat to you can to use betwen you and them...

Attached Link: Linked Photo
Just got in from work, thanks for the replies. I placed a link to one shot that is hosted here. Here is how I priced the images. After looking at several stock photo houses I choose Getty Images as a model. I searched and found a photo not a current news item, just a stock photo that could be used in a promotion. I used their cost calculator and got as close as I could to a comparable license agreement. Then I subtracted 30% for overhead and commissions the resulting price was 10200.00 per image and that is what I quoted. they did not even bat an eye at that. The final decision is still 2 week off, but they requested some more copies in different resolution yesterday so it seems to be a strong possibility. RandyDJB posted Thu, 27 July 2006 at 11:39 PM
Excellent news my friend. Makes me sad a bit because I remember my photo opportunities I had while doing the Molson Indy's and working with Team Penske.
I did it for fun helping the official photographer...and never bothered to promote some of the decent shots I had taken.

If you live in the US, you may want to consider picking up this book. BTW, nice photo. I'm assuming the second one is similiar.
