Hi all,Just a quick heads up. I don't think this affects anyone I've seen here in the Poser forum.
The TOS has been clarified and members are asked not to have nudity in their avatars. This is because we don't have a way of filtering them out for members who have nudity switched off in their profiles.
Cheers,
Karen

Hm, my favorite Snape avatar is wearing a bikini but since you can only see his head & chest somebody might think he's nekkid. Do I still have to change him?

Is this announcement's timing and the new 2257 regs a coincidence?
Byrdie posted Thu, 27 July 2006 at 5:25 PM
Saw Der Bush signing that one today & couldn't help but wonder what the fallout might be. Laws protecting children are a necessity but who knows what else the wingnut wanna-beThought Police might have tacked onto/hidden away in all that legalese?

We already have a child nudity policy and have had a general nudity policy since 2001. The admins have decided on this now since the question arose a couple of weeks ago - complaints from members who have nudity disabled but were seeing nude avatars.

Of course this is a SERIOUS Prob....in the end nothing to make jokes on!!!
BUT: THOSE who have Problems with tasteful Nudity....what do they DO when they go under the shower????
Do they have a button there.... to "disable Nudity"????
Sorry... i did NOT wanted to harm ANYBODY! But i simply DON´T understand whats the problem with artistic Nudity!?
Renderosity is no Pornpage..... this are Artists... and im in here about 4 years now... and never saw Porn!!!!They were born naked, they
re naked when they make children (mostly)...... I understand the TOS.... and the sense in it....... but i DON`T understand the minds and souls of those "disablers"
Greetz from germany, Factor
In Germany we call this "Freie Meinungsäußerung".... here its "Freedom of Speech", hmm?
I hope i will not be disabled for this opinion! =o)

Hi factor,
Well, when people are in the shower, they're in their own homes, and they have a shower curtain :-)
Don't forget that many people access Renderosity from work, public libraries, schools, etc, and not always from the privacy of their own homes. The nudity filter is there to help them control their viewing and avoid getting embarassed, sacked, or told off by their parents/spouses/children

We need to be able to program our avatars like "The Sims" game. You know, a blur goes over a naked Sim when he/she is in the shower -of course there is a hack for it, LOL!!!! There should also be a TOS against us folks who use a photo of ourselves when we were REALLY young - like 35-years-ago, and HOT!! Whoeeee. Someone actually tried to pick me up. I did not have the heart to tell them the photo was taken when I was 19......ROFLMAO!!!!!!

"someone"? don't keep us in suspense, lee - who was it?

I just wish the Sims had a hack so they were naked in the shower but blurred on the toilet :tt2:

They really don't look like real people on the toilet, though. I have all the Sims I and 2, and the game requires they go to the bathroom, shower and eat too much. I spent all my time helping them with bodily functions, LOL!
KarenJ posted Wed, 02 August 2006 at 4:14 PM
Yeah I know. Also I love how they spend longer on the toilet than they do "woohoo-ing" LOL

26 Vickys?! Wow, did that not kill your poor computer?
And I still need to know if my shirtless Snape avatar is okay. If not, will dress him up a bit. ;-)

Mmm, sorry Richardson but you're going to have to pick another one...
Byrdie, you're fine with Snape. Male chests are not counted as nudity.

Why can't people use this option? That way the artists who want to show nudity in their avs can do so, and those who don't want to be in a situation where nudity in avs causes problems can control that. I had seen this before but didn't pay much attention to it until I asked Stacey a question regarding nudity. My answer was right there in my options, but I hadn't read them thoroughly.

Ahhh, I love the double standard of our modern culture.
And technically, the male chest is nudity, because it's not covered by anything like clothing (and no, excessive body hair doesn't count).

Well, in that case, going without gloves means hand nudity

And going without footwear is foot nudity, which is much less forgivable IMVHO.:tt2:

Just my luck! I had decided to use as an avatar Hermes of Praxiteles --as the present one is far from being an adequate representation of my actual looks.... Now, with the new rule, I can't.......................

I'm glad I mentioned an option that the programmers took the time to include. Just goes to show it's best to make many people change something for the few that object. ;) LOL
