Hi everyone,
My name is Hanna and I'm at the moment a blocked writer.
When the stream of words has dried (temporarily I hope), I do a lot of digital art, thus I joined this community. I had no idea it deals with writers as well. Nice surprise I might add.
Will someone please show me the ropes, tell me where I can read members' work and post some of mine?
Thanks,
Hanna

Welcome! I'm sure midrael will be by soon with an official welcome. The writers have a gallery just like the other artists.

There are also challenges posted on the forum:

Or you can start a a thread of interest to you and the other forum members will join in. It's a pretty quiet forum much of the time (especially on weekends) but we always welcome new members.
Hope you find something of interest here.

Welcome, Hanna. What type of stuff do you write?
Looks like dialyn has pretty well covered the bases as to how things work around here, though I might add that we are a pretty unstructured lot. The challenges of late have been of the informal variety, and you can feel free to join in or even start your own.
People used to post writings directly in the forum, but now the Writer's Gallery seems to be more popular. Or lots of folks post their stuff on their own web sites.
Hope you are not blocked for long.

Welcome, WiseHanna. I have found many wonderful people and talented writers at this venue. Then, there are some, like me, who make feeble stabs at putting something on paper or print that I hope to be called 'writings'.
As for writer's block, I have never had it. I attribute that to my upbringing of a school teacher mother and 'five' (can't get into the bathroom) sisters. WINK.
Jump in. From my humble perspective, I view the writer's gallery as a thanksgiving dinner feast. Each brings their particular dish to pass. Some deliver the main menus while others add their own side dishes. In total, it makes for a well-balanced diet.
My best to you and yours, TallPockets/brian.

Yeesh, sorry folks for being a little late to the welcoming party! I was away from my computer for about a week and unable to check the forums! As always though, I'm glad to see that our great community got to welcome you without me =)
It's good to have you here Hanna! Dialyn pretty much told you all you need to know about finding the writer's galleries here. Probably contrary to most of the other galleries/forums, I'm a pretty lenient moderator. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask!

Hi Hanna, welcome to the forum,
although I don't feel I should say that, since I haven't been here long myself.
So just imagine this person in a corner waving to you as you stand there bravely in the middle of the room shouting - "Helloo? Anyone here? Where is everyone?"
