I'm having a bit of trouble with the Walk Designer in Poser 6. When I had Poser 4, I was able to use it with Michael 3 for basic run or walk animations. With my new project and upgrade to P6, I usually use Mo-Caps (mostly from ES)... unfortunately I really can't find any motions for running, therefore I hope to just use the built-in run cyles in the Walk Designer. The problem is, now that I have P6, these don't work with M3. When I apply a run animation, for example, Michael's knees stay locked, and his heels appear to be super glued to the ground (his feet bend, but they don't MOVE). His upper body is in the motion, but not quite the lower half.
Is there anything I can do? I do have a custom run motion from ES, but it's kinda jerky and VERY apparent when the cycle loops; thus creating much unnecessary attention to the animation. BTW, I tried ticking LIMITS on and off as well as Inverse Kinematics, but the result is always the same.
Thanks for the help!

How about doing the run animation in your Poser 4 and saving it as a Mike 3 one, then in Poser 6, apply the pose to M3 from your Poser 4 runtime.

Nerd has just what you need. I got the V3 version - works great!lesbentley posted Sat, 05 August 2006 at 3:17 PM
"How about doing the run animation in your Poser 4 and saving it as a Mike 3 one, then in Poser 6, apply the pose to M3 from your Poser 4 runtime." There is a catch with that idea. When you save an animated (or any) pose, Poser does not save pose data for the BODY actor. The Walk Designer impliments the overall motion of the character in the BODY actor, so any animated pose saved from a Walk Cycle usually ends up with the character walking in place.
:(
There are workrounds, you can copy the BODY motion from a saved pz3, then paste in into your pz2, or you can change the internal name of the BODY actor in the cr2 (eg use "BODYX"), this name change fools Poser into saving pose data for it.

Nerd's M3 walk designer comes with a jogging gait but I don't remember there being a more aggressive running cycle. The walk cycles that come with it are outstanding. Really great for blending with the default P6 walks. Can't recommend nerd's V3 and M3 walk cycles strongly enough.
