Moved in the new place, and what a move from h*ll x4 it was! Not to mention Qwest cancelled my DSL service after having installed the jack and sending a new wireless modem, they added to the frustration by screwing up the transfer of services to the new address. But all is well now (fingers crossed)....and I can check in and do my duties here on Rosity, and see what's been happening with you all....=)

Well relax for a a day or two  . . . sounds like you've been working pretty hard.

BTW:My lack of a high speed internet connection doesn't stop me since I discovered the "wonderful" world of download managers. Now, at the risk of being called a Slowski,  I can dl the dx9sdk, msvc updates  and a whole bunch of stuff over 72 megs (the point where my dialup cuts me off). I'm still a bit skitish about ATT dsl but I finally took a good look at how often my IP address is getting pinged by undesirables (one every five seconds average.). on dsl it would be 100 times worse . . . Firewalls, firewalls, firewalls. Yep I'm covered. Since I got my latest firewall, (a few months ago) I haven't had a single virus or worm. When I first got back online I'd average three a week.

Anyrate glad to hear from you. Most happy!

Zhann, now that your back maybe u can scare up some of the lurkers into joining in.  So many have left , this place is hurting for the mini-tuts that use to prevail here.  There's got to be some out there.  Offer a prize, like free beer.

Zhann posted Wed, 09 August 2006 at 11:10 AM

Summer is always kinda quiet with everyone on vacations and wanting to enjoy the nice weather, wait till it starts to get cold and people stay indoors, more lurkers will join in.....just a thought. I haven't had time to do much and I have a mess of images to start/work on/complete, in my sketch books then turn into cgi.

With moving, it's about unpacking so I can fix dinner, and have clothes for work, and just making the house livable...and we need money, rent is more than our mortgage paymt was so I'm doing more promotional work for the extra cash just to make ends meet (or at least get close to meeting).....

Things will pick up soon I'm sure.....=)

Wheeeeeee! Zhann is back!

Hey, did ya know Bryce 6 is due out any year now?

When it does finally come, we'll be able to export models - and the booleans too that is even the RESULTS of a boolean without all the mishmash?  And WITH Textures???

Wooohooo!

We'll even get the Procedural textures exported as an image?  How's about dat den?

(of course... (calming down again to usual cynic mode) it'll be too expensive and I won't be able to afford it)

Welcome back Zhann!!
We missed ya.

Well I for one hope you are happy and healthy in your new home. Moving is a PITA. I should know, we're still getting over our last move and that was 18 years ago!

bikermouse, you will find that around 85% of those ping replies you get are from your isp server or from other servers you go through on the net...

Hi Zann.

Ya know in order to escape the evils of Qwest, which manages to screw up all by themselves went you aren't moving.  (My own sob, forgot about setting up a phone line, then gave me three and then just shut off the whole service but gave me dsl instead, took many hours of phone calls to fix even as they randomly changed their hours of operations), I switch to comcast solely.  So now my phone, internet and cable are all on the same bill.

I've been quest free for two years now.  It feels toasty.

But here's a hug for dealing with Qwest pain, cause I've been there for many years.
