Maybe...um...I don't know how many folks use POV-ray but a forum would be nice.

Thank you for your suggestion if we find there is enough interest in a forum like this we will see about getting one up and running.

there should be. POVRay is one of the oldest render engines out there, been in use since the early 90's.. frankly I'm amazed it hasn't got a forum here already....

Most POVRay discussion is likely to be on the POVRay news groups (available via usenet news or http://news.povray.org/groups/)

If we have enough interest shown in a forum for POV-Ray, we will add one.

Thanks

I don't use POV-Ray myself (have got it on my computer thought, but never got my head round it), but from what I've seen it seems to have a dedicated following. I agree - we should have a forum here for it. I for one would definately browse it hoping to learn and would love to see gallery images.

I'm just the opposite IO4, I started using Pov-ray several years ago & can't seem to get my head around poly modellers, lol.

I would definitely be interested in a Pov-ray forum here, btw.

POV was the first render engine I ever used... coupled with MORay I found it (back then as version 1) very powerful...

I'd like to get back into it, so I say Aye... tho I fear we won't see it happen....

It would be interesting to know just how many people use pov-ray. I got hooked on it because I wanted something else to render in other than P6 and I really can't afford vue, C4 or 3dmax. Oh well one had to try!

I think more people would try it if we had a fourm here.  There's plenty of information about it on the pov-ray newsgroups, but I think having a place for questions and comments in a familiar environment would be a big help for those interested in it.

That's pretty much how I got started using Wings3D.  There are lots of tutorials for it out there, but it wasn't until I started reading some posts here that I could get used to the idea of manipulating faces & vertexes instead of typing out code.
