Im new to modeling, can someone tell me which software or freeware is good at rendering 3d text form your true type fonts?

My Rhino do this a lot. I'm not familiar with other 3D apps.

A 3D text generator. I think Anim8tor will fit yoru needs it is quite nice just a few more mouseclicks than I like but very nice modeler overall.The wit of a misplaced ex-patriot.

Xara 3D does a variety of text-based 3d imaging. It doesn't do anything else but text, but it's good at what it does.
