Hi all, sorry for the bother but...
Basically what I am trying to do: I started playing a game, kind of like the Sims, in this game you can create custom clothing for your charecters, using Photoshop. Basically I open their template (To make a shirt, just for the record) and paint in the clothing images to fit over the template, save and upload. Now assuming I am using solid colors I have no problem at all, but then I up and decide to use a pattern cringe. So! as I went to their forums, it was suggested that I use smart object and the warp tool around the seam lines (Basically the lines that will connect the front and the back once the image is uploaded), so if I wanted to use stripes they would match up evenly at the seam lines for when the back and front are actually joined together on the upload into the game. Problem is, I don't have Photoshop CS2, I am using Photoshop CS version 8, and I don't see the option for either smart object or warp within it, I cannot afford to get CS2 and I was curious, are these type of effects doable in normal CS or am I SOL?
I am really new to all of this clothes making for 3D and stuff, I unfortunatly cannot afford such programs like Poser (Which from what I believe most of the people in the game use to make their clothes) and I am stuck with the version I have, to work it to the best of my ability, which is also a problem because I am a newbie at that as well..
Now I do have manniquin avatars from the game itself, that I could use in a 3D program to model to try and line up the clothing that way, but Blender wouldnt open the file type, and I assume Daz you cannot make clothing in, so I have no idea if I could upload the manniquin and the clothing template from Photoshop to model there? I get headaches when I even try to open wings3d, it looks so hard so unless Im following a step by step tutorial with that one, I have no idea what to do. I have the free version of Bryce 5 from Daz, but it looks like its just a landscape type of program, again..couldnt find anything to suggest it would handle modeling clothing.
I wouldnt need to worry about morphs and such, as I believe the game does all of this automatically, because like I said earlier, it puts it all together on the upload, I just got to 'paint' it out in Photoshop..
I'm so sorry if that was confusing, I think I confused myself in writing it. I have a hard time explaining what I mean without it being long and drawn out, so I appologize in advance. Hopefully someone out there can make heads or tails out of my jibberish above and hopefully give me a helping hand. Thanks all!
