Hi,

I'm making a scene in Hexagon to be used in Poser.  I created half a sphere, and mapped it on the inside, so that there is a sky.  My question is, how do I set up infinite lights to work in a skydome?  Also, would I also be able to use IBL in this case?  I have too many ideas, and not enough patience to follow through on most of them ;)  Thanks, -Starkdog

Two useful tips for background sceneries of all sorts. 1: Set them not to cast shadows. 2: Put texturemaps and colours on the Ambient input, rather than Diffuse. That means they don't show shadows from the lighting and other objects.

I believe that Dr. Geep has a tutorial on working with a skydome.  Here is the link to his site but I don't see it there.  It might have been a board tutorial. I'll see if I can find where he gave me the link and post back.

EDIT:  Here you go. I found the thread but the link in it doesn't work.  I think it was in his background tutorial.

EDIT EDIT:  Yep, here is the link.  See page 12 of this tutorial

able to know ourselves fully as we are, especially the evil side of us.
This we can do only if we are not angry with our critics but will take in good
heart whatever they might have to say." - Ghandi
