Hi folks
I need a credit card ... a Poser one, obviously. VISA, AMEX of ficticious. There's one in freestuff, but with a broken link. Have you seen something like this?
Best wishes ;)

Why not just scan one in? You could then apply it as texture to a thin cuboid, with a transparency to round off the corners.

i wonder if creating a high-res, photorealistic 3D credit card constitutes some obscure form of CC fraud :)

It probably does, I know that scanning bank notes in the UK is highly illegal as it would be too easy to make and pass off counterfeit money that way. Admittedly someone would need to be short sighted, drunk or a divvy to be taken in, but hey it happens!!

I think that scanning a credit card would be illegal only if you leave on the image the REAL numbers and name. If you do a scan, but then you change the numbers to something like "1234567890", or a random sequence, it should be ok. BUT, I am no lawyer, so I will not bet anything on it.
Scanning cash is of course illegal... but it's easy to do some modifications on the texture image to solve the problem. Changing some text, or mirroring the images, something that would make the image useless for an hypothetic fraud, but that would be not noticeable on the final render.

Attached Link: Bank of England policy for banknote reproduction
Actually, it's not highly illegal to scan and use reproduction banknotes in the UK at all. You have to apply for pernmission, and there are rules to which you have to adhere. The link takes you to the Bank of England web page which outlines the procedure neccesary for the reproduction of notes from the Bank of England. There is then another link to take you to the application form for permission, which also lists the conditions you have to follow.
