Ok every once in a while I give somethign away :) one of my great pleasures in life. But I always ask something in return. This time I'd like you to have a go at making an image, something with a gothy feel. When you are all ready, upload it to the gallery here and post a link to it in this thread. Then I will send you the link so you can download the dress.
Enjoy, have fun :) and no pressure everyone who posts an image gets the download link.
John
PS it's a dynamic dress for Miki so p5/6 + miki are needed for it. P5 is free until the 4th of september if you dont have it ;) While the giveaway is going on I'm going to try to convert it to another figure for wider apeal.

oh the boots are from the Miki 1020 pack and stockings are from Miki Clothing pack 3 I think , and are therefore not included.
As well as the usual disclaimer of figure hair and texture not included :)

I want to try but can only do it when I get back from Japan. Can I do my usual bishounen goth guys, or are girls the preferred subject ?

It doesn't specify, so I imagine any figure/gender/items will work so long as it's gothic/creepy feeling..

I'll give it a try. Sorry that she is isn't very goth but it's kinda dark. Anyway, I don't have any clothes and this looks great! But will it work if I only have V3? I'm new to poser (just got the 5 free last week) and I don't even know what Miki is :blushing:Acadia posted Thu, 14 September 2006 at 11:58 PM
These are all such great images!
I agree randym, these "work for your freebie" giveaways are inspiring :)
SilverLynx I sent you a PM.
I don't have Miki either. She's an indepenent figure that is sold at Curious Labs. The Spider Dress that I used in the images I posted was for V3 because that's the figure I use most... along with Aiko.
This dress has a bit of a learning curve because it is done in the cloth room, but after you do it once or twice it's pretty easy. About 4 buttons. 4blueyes just posted a short and sweet picture tutorial in the forum on the cloth room. Have a look at that once you get the dress and follow the steps.
Not all clothing will require you to do that, only clothing that are "dynamic" like this dress. There are conforming clothing which you just conform to the figure and it moves wit the body. Not easy to pose or fit around altered bodies, but many prefer them to dynamic. I personally prefer dynamic over conforming even though it takes longer to make a scene.

I personally love dynamic clothes, they do take a bit more effort but I think they look better n you can do more with them.
Now :) all I have to do is figure out how to add butons and stuff to my models, then I'll be happy :)

instead of loading the prop I got this Windows pop-up saying something like "disk not found, please insert disk". Only way out was closing Poser.
I went searching for a possible cause and in the PP2 I found this reference (with 2 variations for corset and skirt) :
"M:RuntimesMikiGothRuntimetexturesSpiderGothsgshirt.jpg"
I think the part "M:Runtimes" causes the error. Taking the easy way I replaced those references with NO_MAP and gone was the problem (though I had to load the textures manually of course).

No, I have the problem with all 3 versions. I think the way you wrote the texture map line is called an "absolute" reference, forcing my Poser to look for the (non-existing) drive M first.
After some experimenting (and copying from anohter prop) I replaced the line with ":Runtime:textures:Spidergoth:sgShirt.jpg" and corset/skirt variations and now it loads without any problems.
