It is great to see Posette alive and kicking :c))))))))))))))))))
New porps/hair/etc. wonderful... just wonderful!!
I am still of the opinion that designers should create items for posette and sell them in the Market place....I for one would be very interested to purchase items of clothing/body textures, ... that are specifically deveoped for posette!!
So how about it guys? Willing to take up the challange???? :c)))))
Cheers

I doubt anyone is going to spend a lot of time creating stuff for Posette, for a couple of sales. Not worth the time. Possete is just getting to old. Not to many, who have started using poser in the last couple of years even know/use posette much?
Nothing wrong with free stuff though.

What new Posette? Where?

I think the opening poster just meant "new THINGS for Posette".
Now that the freestuff has the new categories, it's got much easier to find stuff for her as well. When recategorising, I checked all links and winnowed out the broken ones. So if you're after Posette (and Dork) stuff, just go to Poser freestuff and select "Poser 4 people" for more characters, textures, poses, clothing and props than you can shake a stick at

For the newer initiates...Posette was a stock character in Poser 4. Not as detailed as Vicky (natch), but there were warehouses of items made for her before temples and swords became fashionable..;)

Don't write Posette off so quickly, she still is a viable figure. while she has design flaws, so does just about every other figure. None of them is perfect. Overall though, Posette is one HELL of a beautiful figure. More so than anything created by DAZ (with the possible exception of Aiko, whose 'Realistic' morphs can make her quite an attrractive figure too).
This is my remapped version of the P4 (P3) Casual Woman. I remapped the skin portions to accept P4 texture maps, exchanged the head by exporting and importing Obj. files with Eve 4, thyus saving me a lot of extra work, and giving me much better eyes than either Casual Woman or Posette originally had. After this, I cloned the figure with Floydd's P3Nude Woman, Posette 324 (his remapped version of the P3 Posette to accept P4 testures) so as to give her a real chest under her shirt. I have the option of either hiding or showing her breasts by fiddling with the transparency values in the materials menu.
All in all, with a little work and immagination, each of these figures can be brought up to date, and best of all, you have a 'Pokethroughless' figure that can be animated quite easily.

PS: If anyone would like to try out this figure for themselves, then email me at: dph@013.net.il, and I'll be more than happy to send you the .zip files.

Take in mind the advantage of a very low polygoned figure in the new Poser versions.... it means you can apply all kind of skin shaders, IBL AO and other features without a single crash and in extra-short render times...
Posette original. A dead model? Mwhahahaaa...

L-rd, Casette, I thought that I was making a point with my render, but yours simply blows anything away! I'm reminded of the very first Amerioca's Cup race around the Isle of Wight on August 22, 1851. It was the first devue of the Schooner America, a 30.86 m yacht owned by a syndicate that represented the New York Yacht Club. That day it raced 15 yachts representing the Royal Yacht Squadron around the Isle of Wight. America won by 20 minutes. Apocryphally, Queen Victoria asked who was was winning, she was told: The schooner American, your Majesty."
"And who is secondm" she asked.
"Your Majesty, there is no second!"
Same here, there just IS no Second!

Hey guys, I didn't say Posette didn't have a use or that she wasn't very good and so on.
I said that it's not worth the time to make stuff for sale. Just not enough people that would buy something from the market place. You all know what I'm talking about. How many time have you seen a few say how they would buy if it was put in the store. Some poor artist says fine, models something, packages it and has it in the market place, only to get 1 sale if they are lucky and that would be some big luck.
I have a soft spot for Posette myself. After all, she was my first. Isn't there still a lot of stuff for Posette in the market warehouse?
vxg139 posted Thu, 07 September 2006 at 11:32 PM
OK... Lets see,....Just for this year, I have spent over $1000 In the Renderosity's Market Place on items that could be used for posette... albeit, the clothing items were made for V2 and V3 and had to use PhilC's Wardrobe Wizard to convert to Posette!! The problem with the conversion is that it is never as good as the original (As PhilC also admits!!)....
I am sure there are a lot of us out there who are longing for Posette related items and if each of us are willing to spend 1000's of dollars, then this should be a good incentive to the designers alike!!
FYI, I have been using poser for well over 4 years (started out with Poser 4 pro and now Poser 6) and I am YET to see any female character that might come close to Posette !! :c)))
Cheers

I'm sure you could have loaded a bigger image.
I doubt to many merchant are going to do that. I see you didn't read that I like posette myself but it's not worth it for merchants.
