It seems the only hair I can get to work in Poser 5 or 6 by Kozaburo from the Figures library is the Long Hair Evolution.

Is there anything I can do to get the others working in P5 and 6 as well? HELP!

What kinds of problems are you having?  Koz gives a tip on his site regarding the use of texture filtering here in P5:  http://www.digitalbabes2.com/dload/texturefiltering.html  Maybe that will help?

Can you post a screen shot?  Or is it a problem with loading?

Yes, if you can explain the problem you are having, that will help a great deal. I  had Poser 5 and don't recall having problems with the hair. Also, if it's a problem in rendering or fitting it, maybe you can post a screenshot of the results?

I am currently using Poser 6 and I am having the occasional problem with some of the hair in this version, specifically the Updo which I found I had to go into the Material Room and click "Inverse Normals" and "Reflection Lit Mut" in order to be able to render without huge black splotches.  But as I said  that was a problem in Version 6. The hair worked well in Poser 5.

Myself I just play around with the x y z coordinates and x y z scale and I can usually get the
hair to fit on any character.  And don't forget to parent the hair to the head afterwards,
or when you move or pose your character, the hair will just stay in one place.

It isn't the textures or rendering problems or scaling or anything else like that (though that would be a little easier); the figure simply won't LOAD.

I go into my Figures library, go into the Kozaburo file, and if I click on anything other than the Long Hair Evolution (Kyoko Hair, Koz's Long Hair, etc) a little alert pops up that says it isn't a valid Poser file.

This didn't happen with Poser ProPak, I had no problem with loading the hair. It simply seems to be in Poser5 and Poser6.

Now, with the regular hair in the Hair library from Kozaburo (the Short Bob, things like that) it loads just fine. It seems to only be the Figures that I'm having problems with. I also sent Kozaburo an e-mail regarding this - as there was nothing on the website to help with my problem - but it was never replied to.

If anyone knows how to help, or perhaps even could tell me how they went from the Koz downloads page, got the hair, and installed it...maybe to point out something I did wrong, if there was something wrong done...it would be of great help. I'm in trouble, it's my favourite hair!

sigh Good grief.

Thanks again, sorry for any confusion. :P

did you install the service release after these downloads, 'cause some stuff seems to get messed up when you do the service release updates, for me the daz aiko "nyoko"hair messed up where the pose files didn't work so i couldn't change hair colour!! you could try re-installing the hair and see if that helps.

Are you using a Mac?

 - Just a guess...

I noticed that in the download zip files (for example Kyoko hair), he includes an extra folder called, "XtraStuff.Mac".  It only contains the Character and Pose stuff, but not the Geometries and Textures.  Is it possible that you forgot to copy over the Geometries and/or Textures stuff from the main "Runtime" Folder?

Kyoko hair works just fine on my Windows machine.  I'm downloading a free copy of Poser 5 for my Mac to test it out.  (How fortuitous that Content Paradise is giving it away for free!)  I'll let you know what happens!

Nope, no Mac-use.

Oh well, I'll see what I can do...it's all very frustrating. Hmmph.

I just wish I could figure it out, everything I've tried seems to mess up o.O;;

The only way that I could reproduce the "isn't a valid Poser file" issue was on my Mac BEFORE applying SR4 for OSX (Mac) available from e-frontier.com.

After applying the patch, it seemed to work just fine.  However, I also re-downloaded and installed the Kyoko Hair from Koz's website at the same time.  Again, it has always worked on my Windows machine.

So, I woud have to concur with Acadia's posting, unless I missed a step or two. I hope that you get it sorted out!  Koz has some of the best hair available!

The only other thing I'm thinking is that you don't have the files in the right place. If I remember correctly a few of Koz's hair aren't unzipped in runtime structure and you have to place the files manually into the proper folders.

Here is a link to an image that shows the structure of a runtime and where you find/place certain files.

Go through your Poser 6 runtime and make sure you have the Koz hair files in the proper place.

Well, as it turns out, there wasn't a problem, really; I was just a complete ninny and had the MAC versions of the files instead of the PC versions.

They were in the right place!...

...But the wrong files.

Yeah...I'm real smart :P

Thanks SO MUCH to everybody for the help, so sorry for the bother. <3

heh, glad you got it worked out.  I was totally confused the first time I installed that hair because of the MAC files and the fact that some weren't in runtime structure, plus I wasn't at all adept with where to put various files.   That picture at DAZ was my Bible for Poser for the longest time.
