Hello Propschick, Welcome to Carrara. Beginning can mean many things. ;) It is a lot like Poser except that you get to create content now! What types of things would you like to do? Just post back and folks can steer you in the right direction. Mark

Hehe everything is new...I am a Poser/Daz 3d user, and being a user of those programs is what inspired my purchase of carrara

Yes, that's a good starter. Also check out the link above to get more than you want to know! I've done a series called Stupid Modeling Tricks that I think is available on polyloop.net now. Since you are familiar with Poser, you'll get up to speed quickly.

Thank you as the 'getting started' went a little too fast for me. Got lost in that bit ;)

Here's an easy way. Just visit the Carrara backroom here at Carrara and give Kixum's Tutorials a try. The link is posted just above this.

Doh! Completely forgot about the backroom. That's what it's there for too. LoL!

Ooooooh, maybe I got into this a little too deep and jumped the gun a bit. Will just have to start with some simpler software I suppose, because each tut I have read there loses me after a step or two. Unless you know of even easier tuts , see ya in a few months! lol

Hello,
Get a copy of the Carrara 5 Pro Handbook. It has recieved great reviews from 3DWorld magazine, and its going into its second printing. Written by myself and other Carrara users it is a good resources chock full of tutorials in modeling and animation.
