Hi everyone/anyone
title says it all really - I need a hollow cylinder (not like a torus), which I can use for props etc. I'd really appreciate a link or three (Hi Acadia, lol) where I can get one.
cheers
Sheila

Try my Magic Tube - it has morphs, too!LostinSpaceman posted Fri, 15 September 2006 at 9:25 AM
Well shoot Bob! Ya beat me! I was gonna go into a short tutorial on taking the Poser 4 Cylinder and using the grouping tool to give the ends of the Cylinders new groups separate from the sides group and spawning her very own cylinder with removable ends prop. Guess there's no need now.

Blows imaginary smoke from end of imaginary gun barrel ;) Go on, post your tutorial anyway! It has applications for more than just making a hollow cylinder.

Hi,I have a couple of Poser primitives in my free download area:
http://www.joes3dfantasyworlds.com/down/primitives/primitives01.htm
among them there is a morphing ring as well, you can adjust the thickness.
you may need to scale it in y-direction to adjust it.
or you may use my tubes.
hope this helps :)

Create a second group called ends or two groups called top & Bottom and add the polygons for the ends to these groups.
Then click on the "Spawn Props" button.
Delete the original cylinder and you have left over an open cylinder with either two props called top & bottom or one prop called ends. You can then group them back together in the Heirchy window and the ends can open and close. Whallah. Simple as Sugar! Easy as Pie!

This is the sort of thing that the free modeler would come in handy for. Wings3D, would be a good start.
