Here are two more: http://istockphoto.com/index.php http://www.fotolia.com/ You can also sell art prints from you own website. It is a tough business though, with all the great photographers in the world.

Is istockphoto the one where you have to do a Q and A before allowing to sell images, if so I could never get past the test.

Had a mega hassle with istockphoto last December....they "lost" my already approved photos...then they wanted me to re-test and re-apply with "new" test photos. I passed their test 5 or 6 times. In the midst of my application process they changed their system and they now wanted an electronic copy of my driver's license as photo ID!
I think anyone that hands someone their photo ID over the net is asking for trouble!!!! BE VERY CAREFUL!!!
I told them to take a hike and delete me and my personal info from their database....I kept getting newsletters from them for months....I emailed them several times and it wasn't until I threatened to take action against them that they finally stopped sending me crap. But something tells me that my personal info is still in their database.

hi all,
istockphoto.. I'm already there but it's corporative (pub) concept.. I can't put there nude art picture and see my work sale for 5$ at full size.. they give 20% and keed 80%.. hmmm.. and I've a lot of problem with them..
I guess that the personnal web-site is a better choice and sale 'prints' (not jpg).. but build website take time and maintain the website too.. why it's so hard to find a sponsor.. :O)) loll
thanks all!!!

yeah - i think the best way is to sell from your own website - i havent looked at doing it any other way (i am working up to selling prints locally through putting them up on a pub/cafe wall). I'll have my site updated with a page explaining how to get a print from me (i'll probably just print to order). That is of course if anyone is willing to actually buy my stuff

You could perhaps sell poster prints through a place like CafePress.com, but it is still best to have your own site and then integrate a CafePress storefront. The good thing about that is they do all the printing and mailing for you. :) PayPal will also help you set up a shopping cart...but you have to do the order fulfillment. I don't think I'll be able to afford any lenses at the rate I'm going Andreas...maybe a keychain camera, heheh.

Well...i was talking about lenses for my wife...she wears glasses because she´s out of lenses. I´ll be darned if i can´t afford those. :tt2:
I just got accepted into this art-community:
www.swedishart.se
And they act like an agency except they take no comission. I pay a membership-fee of only $40 per year and in return i get my own gallery there where i can set my own price, and they continuesly advertise ones work to different art-communities. Next week they will send out a catalogue to 350 art-clubs and companies across Sweden. They basically provide you with your own homepage as well where you can promote any vernissages (is that the english word as well or only the swedish?) you might have planned, and then they later on advertise that as well. I´ve only just become a member there so i´m not really sure how it all works, but from the looks of it...they seem really great. Maybe there are other places like that instead of these stockphoto-agencies that rob you blind. I have only submitted photos to those places that i´ve retrieved from my trashcan, lol.
