See this thread to understand what this is about -> Wrap a sheet in the cloth room

I'm using V3 but any figure should work.
My units are set as cm, so remember you'll need to convert translation dial values if your using other units.

This thread is the first of two (or three) and describes how I setup my test rig.
The test rig by itself isn't that interesting, the technique and what it make possible is.

Load figure
Turn IK off
Zero
Drop to floor

Load Ball prop (low poly)

Set Scale, value not critical, use whatever makes the ball slightly smaller than the palm of the figure's hand, 20% is about golf ball size relative to V3

Zero all translation dials, then drop to floor

Export Ball as OBJ

Delete Ball from scene

Load a "Square Hi-Res" prop Switch to the Top camera and adjust until you can see the whole prop

Open the Joint editor window Alter the Centre and End points to (-0.349, 0.0, -0.349) and (0.349, 0.0, -0.349) respectively

Save to the Props library Close Joint editor

Test Rig Assembly 1) Hand surrogates

Switch back to Main camera
Import SmallBall.obj, all options unchecked

Front view

Change colour to Red and set Element display style to "Cartoon with lines"
Rename to "RightBall"
Position in middle of right palm (-82, 150, 10)

Bottom view

Import SmallBall.obj, all options unchecked
Change colour to Blue and set Element display style to "Cartoon with lines"
Rename to "LeftBall"
Position to middle of left palm

Test Rig Assembly 2) Cloth Plane

Make figure invisible (select Body and uncheck visible)
Switch to front camera
Rotate 90° X
Translate (X and Y) until RightBall is just in the (nearest) top corner

Scale until LeftBall is in a matching position in the opposite corner

Select cloth plane

Switch to Top camera Check "Display Origin" (makes it easier to see CP from top) Translate (Z) until ClothPlane is just behind RightBall

Switch to Main camera
Uncheck "Display origin"
Parent ClothPlane to RightBall

Create Magnet Select Mag Set Element display style to Outline

Select Mag Base
Set Element display style to Outline
Set Scale to 100%
Parent to LeftBall
Zero rotate and translate dials
Switch to Front camera
Adjust Y translation so that centre is aligned with LeftBall

Switch to top camera Adjust Z translations so that centre is aligned with ClothPlane

Set Parent to ClothPlane

Select Mag
Set Parent to LeftBall

Switch to Left camera Zero X and Y translation Adjust Z translation until there is no distortion in ClothPlane Switch to Main camera

Select ClothPlane
Set Element display style to Smooth Lined
Switch to Front camera

Select MagZone
Click on "Edit Falloff Graph"

Move all markers up as far as they will go (left click on marker and drag)

Delete middle two markers (left click between first and second markers, drag until between third and forth markers, press Delete)

Some fiddling about may be necessary to get line completely flat

Close Falloff window Scale Mag Zone to 20%

Select Mag Zone Set Element display style to Wireframe Adjust scale and translations so that the zone covers just the 9 vertices in the corner
