well, I'm toiling on with my latest tex - boy, she's hard work at the mo, lol. Au naturel, her lips are fine, but I want to give her some lippy (can do that no probs), but as to adding a glossy look - well, I make a right mess. Any help from texture meisters would be v v v v welcome. BTW I use PS7
thanx

before you try it on the textures (because it will never match your lighting)....why not try adjusting it in the material settings in Poser?

Hi MS
will try that, thanx. The main point of my question was the actual draughtsman(woman?)ship. I've tried doing the gloss on a separate PSD layer, but am not sure which brush to use. Dumb, eh?
cheers

Well, you could always try to really study what glossed lips look like. If you've got a few bucks to spare, Max Factor makes some really neat lipstick/gloss combos that have really good gloss effects. I had a coupon, bought a tube for about $6. They really show the detail on the lips, with the glossing on top.
Or, you could get some photo references to study ;)
As for which brush, that's definitely up to you. I know that I use different brushes for different things than other people use them for ;)

Or, for the cheap version, you could grab some vasoline, apply to your lips, and study where the light hits there ;)

thanx again, I don't use makeup (allergic!), but I'll experiment and see what I come up with - maybe look at some magazines for inspiration. This is about the only real problem I've had. Maybe my forthcoming "model" should also be makeup allergic! lol

with a regular texture, try changing the diffuse color to grey. gives neat highlights. (assuming of course the rest of the diffuse textures are white)
