Subject: Can I really not save materials from inside poser?

I've worked on a texture for Vicky and have everything done and set up exactly how I want it in the material room (well for now at any rate) and all I want to do is save it. I have spend hours looking for how to save just those precious material settings but to no avail. -Yes I am blond why do you ask?- A friend tells me its simply impossible to save a set up like that inside poser and that the only way it can be done is with something like mat pose edit or by -shudders- hand. This theory makes me want to scream "you gotta be kidding me" and throw things. But if its true better I should know and sulk in my sorrow and get it out of the way.

Poser 5 or Poser 6?

In Poser 6 you can save the whole material with one click. In Poser 5 it takes a little more (basically, save the CR2 and use MatPoseEdit to make the MAT pose for you)

You just can't put the words "Poserites" and "happy" in the same sentence - didn't you know that? LaurieA

In Poser 6 on your right under the Material Library there's a + sign. Click on that and select "Single Material" and click OK or  "Material Collection" and then select which materials in the list that pops up that you want saved. IE: SkinHead, Skin Body, Iris etcetra. Once all material zones have been selected hit OK and then OK again to save the collection.

i'm not sure i understand exactly where you want to save this material to?

if you save the file "save as" then yes that material setting is saved, okay? you can also save your settings with a right click, copy, then paste.

if you have a material for jessi and you've taken hours to get her torso just so and now you want to apply that same setting to her legs then control/left click and click all of the nodes you want to transfer over...right click, copy...go to her torso then right click paste.

Alternatively, you can just save the figure in the "characters" library. It will save with all textures atached. You can then load that character into any other scene and dial up different morphs if necessary...
