Hello.
This will be a very simple issue for the experienced Vue5 users. However, sinse I'm still trying to master the remaining few details, it's one that is eluding me.
I'm trying to create misty clouds over the mountain peeks I've created, but my attempts are not exactly working out for me. I know that Vue5 does offer a method to create this effect, but I can't quite find out how. I do have the Vue5 manaual and I'm still looking through it to find what I'm looking for. If anybody can offer a solution to my problem, or, if you know what page the information is located on, I'd greatly appreciate any help you are able to provide.
Thank

Add a Sphere and stretch it over the top of the mountains to form an oval. Then apply one of the Cloud Sphere materials in the “Clouds / Other Clouds” category. You may have to use several spheres with different Cloud Sphere materials depending on the look you are going after.

Hi JR.
I did initially try the sphere as you suggested. I didn't stop to realize that multiple spheres are needed. I'll certainly give your advice a go right away.
Thanks

You can also try it with one big sphere and a volumetric material. You will have to play with the material parameters for density and distribution in particular, and most of all, the scale. Don't be afraid to raise the scale a lot.

Hi persius, I have done the misty cloud thing a while ago on one of my works see pic http://www.renderosity.com/mod/gallery/index.php?image_id=1286606&member However, i did not do this with the spheres technique as mentioned here, but instead i used the alpha's with clouds photo's that you can find in the 'Cerro Verde' and 'Bali' samples on the content CD that comes with Vue 5 Infinite (don't know if it is available in Esprit or lower) These will make up for more realistic fog/clouds than using spheres in my opinion. Forgot to mention that you can play with the color setting and density etc... of the alpha's. You can achieve every kind of mist, cloud and fog effect this way ! Try it out and be amazed :woot: Wim

Hi Wim.
Thanks for the pointer. I'm going to give it a go asap. This sounds like what I've been looking for.
Rock on....
