Good point! Say if you're drowning in the sea, don't just wave your arm and scream "HELP!" Say something like - "I say! I was wondering if you had a moment or two to spare, perhaps you could organise some kind of rescue as in fact I'm drowning. I know that if you happened to have a radio handy, you might be able to contact the coast guard or even the lifeboat who, if they have time, might be able to pop along with a bit of rope or two, tie it around my chest and drag me from the water.
Of course if that's too much trouble.............."

I agree. If you need help with terrains, make the subject, "Need help with Terrains!" Don't make the subject, "hello Brycers"
Sometimes I don't have the answer. A lot of you will accuse me of answering anyway, and you'd be right. I hate to see a new user sit there and get nothing back.
A lot of times I'm surfing somwhere else and the answer to the question pops into my mind. It's really hard to remember which of the three, "hello Brycers" posts actually had the question in it. Now that the forum shifts posts down by views it's impossible to remember that post was on Monday and go back through the list. They're all no longer in the same order.

Why of course! If someone is drowning in the sea, and dials my phone number merely yelling "help", I'd have no idea they're drowning in the sea. For all I know, I might end up sending them a sanitary tampon when they can really use a pontoon boat.

I totally agree with my antipodean brother. Not only when trying to help, but a number of times I'm looking for solutions to a problem and it would make it much easier if the question was in the subject. Makes the forum a much better resource.

This can actually be changed if you wish. At the top of the threads just left of the page listings there is a link in very small font where you can change this between sort by post date and sort by last reply.

Help help! I'm being repressed! (What was that from? I remember that from somewhere. lol)
Anyhow, for the most part I agree. Help requests in this forum (or any online forum) should be specific:
Maybe our happy and resourceful forum admin should make this a sticky (and probably lock it, before it gets too ridiculous.)

That's a great idea, it will also make searching the past forum posts for that particular problem easier if it's in the sunject line......
