Hi there
I just want to share how I take my MACRO shots !!
I went with my sister in law out today, and she hold my other camera when I was busy with making some MACRO froggy shots. So she made a shot of me in action. I thought maybe you like to see how I lay on the ground to get a good shot...lol
BTW this tiny froggy was lost, I killed him almost, but thank God I saw him right on time .........and after my shooting we brought it back to the pond where it belongs.....

Those are some really beautiful macros vlaaitje. I particulary like that second frog-shot and the last peacock butty-shot. Really gorgeous. However...if you title a thread "How I make my MACRO shots !!"....shouldn´t you provide at least some information on how you do take them? :tt2:
How come we say 'It's colder than hell outside' when
isn't it realistically always colder than hell since hell is
supposed to be fire and brimstone?

Excellent macros
Thats why I prefer being solo (with my dog Elli of course) when I crawl around taking macros LOL
Took this today you can find the big one in my galleri, it was wet on the ground LOL

Wonderful macros,Ilona. That peacock one is beautiful. All we ever get here are monarchs...rather commonplace,I'm afraid.I've been trying out my macro lens. My problem is,if I get really close,I get this really shallow dof and then only part of the subject is in focus...or I have to stand back, and then it's not really a 'macro' anymore... :(
Lovely mushrooms, btw.I've neevr seen ones like those.

Wonderful macros,Ilona
Thake my advice, if you do this a lot, get an elbow pad, trust me its worth it
They wouldn’t have made the cane if you weren’t meant to break the rules

*GoranForsberg: haha I can imagine how you took it, I do so much different things to get a good shot....with a lot of risks as well !!!
Margana: don't go to close, I use most of the time the AV and manual settings, but it is still a hard thing to do...especially if there are 2 butties on a flower !!!
Simon_P: You are damn right.....I will keep it in mind

I like the shooting room the 105mm gives you...mine is a 50mm and must be closer for the shots.

so, we went out today and I made some action shots of my wife as well, lol, always a pleasure to see her at work!! I knew about this thread, and thought I post one of her I took today on a gorgeous sunny day out. Here she took a shot of a caterpillar, I found that nice green one for her, I post one today also. You can't believe which kind positions she used to get her shot, I bet you will laugh

Gorgeous images. Noticed you used your speedlight when doing macros. I have just started using my new one but never thought to use on my froggie shots. But might give it ago. Nice dedi to Danny, Bruce and Kort. Takecare.

I would be careful with the froggie shots....I don't want a flash that close to my eyes! Besides, your froggies are wonderful. I do believe you have these critters trained..or is it you eyes?

Gracious me...now I find myself searching for a good price on a 105mm macro lens....what this does to realistic thinking..oh well. TomD'Art.
