Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Dec 03 8:59 am)
Yeah :) I was watching the sun rising and the sky getting brighter. The large herd of zebra moved on.
I got this link from another site I'm a member of and some people saw lions and baboons.
I bookmarked it and will check back there later. It must be quite different to see at night.. Probably just the glow of eyes in the dark.
EDIT: My cats are entertained by the bird sounds, LOL I turned up the volume a bit and their ears perked up and their eyes got huge!!!! LOL

That is soooo.... 'WILD'..... just saw a couple of beetles or sumfink crawl across the ground... and the 2 monkeys behind the bushes was hilarious... if a bit rude ;:)
Oooh dickie birds, drinking at the water hole...
Dam...I will be watching this for ever now...

lol, it's addicting!
It's a bit slow it seems. The zebra that I saw were really awesome! There was about 25 or more.

Some different animals now. Not sure what they are though. Look like some kind of buffalo or ox.
EDIT: I looked it up, they are Wildebeests! I've never seen those before.

Quote - Acadia, those are gnu's (a.k.a. wildebeest) .
Thanks! Lots of animals I'm not familiar with.
This site is totally fascinating!

Well, I'm heading to bed to read for a bit. and then sleep.
I'll check back at the watering hole later. Night must be amazing. I imagine the big cats, elephants and hyenas probably come out then. Probably too hot during the day for them.

For me its just showing a lightly wooded area, no water in sight. I could swear the camera panned to the left once. Who's driving the camera?

Sadly I get an error..cant see squat...are there any other media players that will pick this up besides Windows media? My media player just died I guess{and I refuse to get the new beta version 11 as they want me to switch from SP1 to SP2 for XP Home}..I used to watch the eagle nest..this would be so cool to see

No, but there should be!
However, maybe seeing all the great types of animals will give some modelers some ideas. So it's not entirely off topic :)
It's night there now and I think it's frogs, but man, talk about annoying sounds! LOL I'd be totally beside myself if I was camping there, not only because of the noise, but the darkness and not being able to see what is making those noises!

Thanks for that link! Unfortunately I can't view it because I don't have "Real Player" and that's one program that I learned the hard way to never have on my computer. I installed it once and it took over control of all of my media files and changed all of the icons, and I couldn't get any of it back even after I uninstalled Real Player. I had to reformat to get back what it changed :(
I wish they allowed another way to view besides "Real Player"

yup... its very cool... be patient... you get to see all sortsa animuls...
The bird sounds are very therapeutic... I have had it on since Acadia posted the link... but the frog sounds around midnight last night... were horrific... had to mute the sound
"You don't have to be mad to use Poser... but it helps"
LOL, yes they were quite annoying!! They showed a close up of one of the frogs. It was the size of a dinner plate!!!! I've never seen such a large frog in my life! They panned into the trees and it was sitting in the bushes. No wonder it was so loud, it was big!!
I saw a hyena today and I think an Impala, and what looked like a raccoon, but not sure about that one. Two friends said they saw a leopard, but I missed that :(

I just saw on another forum that there were some baby zebras yesterday between 4 and 5pm CDT.

The National Geographic one is much more active. Early this morning there was a herd of elephants that spent a couple hours there, and there was a bunch of baboons too.
I keep hearing a lion in the background but i haven't seen it yet.

Can the National Geographic one be viewed in something else other than "Real Player"?

I downloaded and installed Real Player so I could watch the National Geographic one too. I made sure I went through the file list and only gave it permission to play anything with "Real" in front of it.
I go to the National Geographic page and all that happens is that it shows Real Player as "loading". I figure after 10 minutes nothing was going to happen, so I closed the window.
Why doesn't the Real Player show the live feed?

This is the coolest site. There is a live feed to a water hole in Africa. I spent about 5 minutes watching a duck and then suddenly a herd of Zebra showed up!!!You need sound turned on. Lots of great birds and other creatures.
The camera changes angles so sometimes you see on the other side of the water hole. patience is the key :)
