At work, I use Poser to do mock-ups of displays we're working on. Much better than just a sketch because I can simulate the "lovely" halogen spots we have to work with as well.
I also do posters for events here and for other things on campus on occasion....
Otherwise, I just futz around making an odd image here and there.

I did a picture in Paint Shop one time that I needed a human reference figure for, and I used Poser to make that part. Mostly though, I use other stuff to make Poser images, not the other way 'round.

Sure. It'll draw you a beer, too... if you've got the right hardware.

Almost all my Poser renders are used to illustrate Greetings Cards for my family and friends. OR to illustrate a freebie I've made. ;o)

They can be useful, I did a whole advertising campaign with them because as everyone knows "sex sells" I also did some for book covers, a shampoo TV commercial and a bunch of Flash web pages.

I use Poser for anything that can be more easily created there than in any other application (funnily enough, that usually includes figure - especially distant ones).
Then I export the Poser stuff into another app (if necessary - it's not always)..
Cheers,
