I entered the Halloween contest using a completely dress M3 and two of Winsston1984 Ultimate Undead Zombies, who do NOT have genitals nor can you tell if fhey are male or female, and it was rejected because THE ZOMBIES GROIN AREA WAS NOT COVERED!!!!!!! So I painted loinslothes on them and told admins they were male zombies - I could not make out any breasts - and that all skeletons need to be dressed, too. Has RR gone completely insane??? How anyone could think somone could get a sexual kick out of an ugly zombie with eyes bugging out means that the current owners or whoever is making up these stupid rules have sick and twisted minds themselves. I am furious!!!!!!!!!!! This is crazy.

Get real, jumpstart. If anyone finds zombies a turn on, they are sickos indeed.

What, exactly, do those rules have to do with whether nude zombies are a "turn on"? It seems to me that you're reading meaning into the reason for the existence of the rules, then firing off at them because the (assumed) reasons strike you as preposterous.

I believe the reasons for the existence of the rules (as explained elsewhere in the forum) make it quite clear that the erotic propensity of images of the undead, sick or not, is not at issue. The rules for this contest do not exist to prevent anyone from getting aroused by the images.

To the best of my knowledge, no image has been rejected from this contest for being erotic or arousing to any extent whatsoever. The judges are deciding if A) selected parts of the image are sufficiently human-like, and B) do those parts of the image expose the prohibited body parts. Period. It all seems clear to me, at any rate.

What the sickos do with images in the privacy of their computer rooms is, of course, beyond anyone's control. 😄

Well last year they were not so strict. It's a pain to paint clothes on monsters. MOnsters should not be part of this nudity thing.

TheAnimaGemini posted Wed, 25 October 2006 at 10:08 PM

LOL This is the best comedy here i ever seen. But i can tell you, my ghost brushes LOOOOOL shows to much breasts too.

Hi drifertlee,

I understand where you are coming from. We didn't used to have to spell things out quite so "graphically".

I was one of the Admins in charge of the Halloween contest last year. At the beginning of the Halloween contest, I thought the same thing (monsters don't need clothes!).

However, after seeing some of the "monsters" that came through last year's contest...it became very apparent there was a need to set some very well defined parameters and guidelines around "what is nudity" and what kind of creatures have to be covered in these large, community wide contests.

Sincere apologies for any inconvenience. Your image was not personally singled out. We are simply clarifying the definition of "what is nudity" as clearly as possible to avoid any confusion.

Best wishes,

Well, my zombies now have loinclothes, but the rules should have stated "monsters also must have clothes" Personally, I'm blaming it all on George W. and his extreme right moral majority friends. This country has gone back 100 years since he took office. It's sad. Now I suppose I'll be whisked off and tortured by the CIA. Can anyone say "Gestapo"?

Drifterlee i was really suprised yesterday when they censored my contest image. I mean this is so
...cant find the right words. Ghost brushes. Excuse me, this is just a joke. Blurred, smuged ghost brushes.

Okay....this even I have a problem with.  I like making little anthromorphosized critters....ie....critters that have some human expressions/features, etc.  Look at my avatar to get my drift.  These little "human attributes", imo make them engaging.  It will be a very cold day down below, however, before someone can tell me to put clothing on them.

drifterlee posted Thu, 26 October 2006 at 11:34 AM

Ladona, are you serious???? They banned ghost brushes???? Ghosts aren't fleshy!!!!!!!!!

drifterlee posted Thu, 26 October 2006 at 11:35 AM

Also, someone last year made monsters with genitals??? Oh, that's too funny!!!!

Hi Poppi, human expressions are a cool thing and certainly helps create memorable characters. I hope you know that's SOoooo not the kind of human attributes I was referring to as being at the root of this problem.

Yes...drifterlee...now you are beginning to see where the problem originated. It wasn't just a single monster, or a single image it was several.

In an attempt to be fair and consistent and not to make any one artist feel singled out or attacked, we came up with some guidelines that we believed would cover most of these sensitive situations. ;-)

My contest entry, which was pulled, had no characters with genitals. No genitals, is accepted worldwide as okay. Proof of which is millions of naked dolls and action figures in the hands of children. If your going to buck the worldwide opinion, please do so at the beginng of a contest instead of pulling an entry 10 days after submission and acceptance by staff. That's very unprofessional.

Thank you, LillianH.  I really wasn't sure.  I guess my mind pictures ghost brushes as being clothed in the first place....like sheets or something.  This thread fairly boggles me.

Hmmmm......I've been wondering what happened to a few former posters.  I should have known.  I suppose that a word in the right ear works everytime.

GWB and his cronies are watching this thread.  I betcha that Dick Cheney is reading it right now.........

drifterlee posted Thu, 26 October 2006 at 5:40 PM

HAHAHAHAH!!!! It's not funny, though. They approved torture for terrorist suspects, which I find to be sick. Anyone will confess to anything if they are being tortured. Anyone who remembers Monty Python remember the Spanish Inquistion and the torture by the "comfy chair" LOl! Also, I think we all know who makes those sexy monsters........ Dudley are you reading this??? Just kidding.

XENOPHONZ posted Thu, 26 October 2006 at 6:15 PM

Yes, yes -- I agree completely.  Terrorists should be given comfy chairs & cable TV.  The poor dears........chopping off heads with knives is such exhausting work............

Oh, well.  As temptingly juicy as it is ----

"Monsters" are defined by things other than their looks.  At least the monsters in the real world are.

No, In Monty Python skit, anyone who mentioned the Spanish Inquisition was forced to sit in the Comfy Chair....It was only funny if you saw the show...
