I signed up for the DAZ PC so I could get my cheapo Bryce 6.0 upgrade (couldn't be worse timing, I'm studying for the Texas Bar Exam at the moment and have no time at all to play). However, when I went to downloads, I got all the clearly Bryce oriented downloads, but then there is all of this other "stuff", some with descriptive names (skeleton, etc) and some with non-descriptive names (like ... ac652 or something).
I assume that these are all freebies that we get for joining the PC, but is there any place you can go to see what the heck these are before you bother to download them?? I've got the room, but I have no idea if I want to take the time with some of the stuff (like, why would I ever need an extension ladder??). Then again, I hate to pass up on a freebie that I might actually use someday.
Anyone know what these various files are or where I can find out what they are?? (And, yes, I already tried putting some of the non-descriptive names in the DAZ search engine ... and got nothing).

Nope,...........other than downloading them and installing,..........then on install it'll tell you what they are,..........if it's not something you want, cancel the install. There's probably a much better way to do it,.........but that's what I did. Good luck on your exam.

When you enter the non-descriptive names into the DAZ search engine, are you putting in the entire thing? One thing I've noticed is that you have to put the entire string into the search for it to work.
If you list some of these, maybe I can help. If you want, send me an IM and I'll see what I can come up with from my catalog of downloaded files. I've been a PC member on and off for about 4 years now so I've got everything catalogued and I've changed the installer names to reflect what the item is.

Which would be worse, the revamping or the fee?

Sakrat (unfortunately) is 100% just start the install and it will tell you exactly what it is like ps_ac140 is the Anime hair. I downloaded everthing cause you never know. So unless you are on dial up just download them all run the .exe and it will tell you what it is.

As for props, I downloaded mine and set them aside somewhere on the hard drive to see what they are when I have time and inclination to tinker. I really don't have a burning desire to know... Especially when I don't have time to mess with it.
But... you can also tell what you're getting when you download them from your DAZ account...

That is poser content that new members get for free. It is usable in bryce via Daz Studio. Download them, cause they will not be in your account history! You also get a coupon for 15 items from the PC Bonus section, which can only be used once, and you must have only those bonus items in your cart, or the coupon won't work. The bonus coupon is good until 30 Nov 2006.
Oh, the 2 letters before the number denote the Type of item, where ac is accessory, pe is people, tx is texture, ds is daz studio, br is bryce, etc.
I bet that the content in your downloads, includes michael 2 and victoria 2.
