Hmmmmm this was asked in another thread that I see has been removed.
I posted a link to what is said on e-ons site about it being released.
Anyone care to say why that thread was deleted. I didnt get any notice in an email or pm so its got me curious.

It was deleted because I made a terrible mistake in it by making the thread at all. I am sorry to have done so, and apologize to everyone for doing so.

Thats ok.
No big deal because I don't think anyone knows when it will be released.
I hope not until prices are fair and bugs are at a minium. :)
Vue Inf will do what I want to do so I am in no hurry at all for its release.

Thanks for understanding Iloco. I wasn't trying to blow their surprise, or be a smart ass by telling when it would be released. I just wasnt thinking it through well is all. I apologize to Vue also for blowing their surprise.

lol I want it out already! hehe I want to use that paint eco system thingy. can't wait! :P :)
Rebel3D posted Mon, 30 October 2006 at 12:42 PM
I know, I want it immediately too :) From what little I have used Vue 5 ecosystems so far, my only complaint is that I want more control where things are placed precisely. Painting them on sounds ideal to me.

Last I heard/read from EON is that release was going to be delayed. Another thing, typically before a release by at least a couple weeks we start seeing gallery images using the new version & I have seen none to date.
Of course the marketing could have changed........
bruno021 posted Mon, 30 October 2006 at 2:21 PM
Iloco, I agree! fair prices and a minimum of bugs sounds great!

The real question that bothers me is, "Why are they taking so long!" Is there something down the line we have to worry about?
Peggy_Walters posted Tue, 31 October 2006 at 9:27 AM
Just read this from the 3dcommune newsletter...
The boxed version of Vue 6 Infinite should arrive around December. Meanwhile, from November 1st, Vue 5 Infinite will include a free access to the pre-release version of Vue 6 Infinite for a public price of $695!
What is a pre-release?
The pre-release is a version of the software that has undergone internal and external testing but not yet validated a mass-testing experience. This process is required by our new quality control system before the manufacture of boxed versions.
Nothing yet on E-on's site. Sigh... Still waiting.

Its a shame other site know more about e-ons business than their own sites.
e-ons public relations has got to be the worst I have ever seen on any 3d sites and forums. :(
Good luck to all the people who want to beta test the prerelease. I will pass and wait for a stable release and that depends on what the upgrade price will be. :)
I wonder why there was no mention of an upgrade price for the prerelease version.........?

Hm. They may actually have a simultaneous release of V6I and P7.... Hope that includes us old time V5I users...I'm happy to put up with glitches to get a head start on things...as I would be going into it knowingly... :)

LOL in Poser forum someone mentioned DAZ delayed Victoria4; so it will work properly with Poser 7. All this funny conspiracy theories…. IT’S ALL POSER’S FAULT !

It may also be held for final release because of Windows Vista? Who know how that will effect the software... I know that I will be a willing beta tester! And yes, once Vista comes out I will be upgrading at least my duel core system.

Sorry Maz, I don't think 'conspiracy'; more like sliding release date-itis. As for Vista....Gahk! If half the reports beta testers have passed out are partially accurate, the thing will be a resource tyranosaurus, security nightmare to make XP look safe, and yet another round of things having been moved to the point of lunacy. I may get it before next year is out, but only as part of a multiboot set up.

Last i looked e-on still has the outdated text on thier site that says V6 due for release in 3rd quarter 2006 which ran out a month ago, then they mention a prerelease for october which runs out in 5 hours my time. It would be nice if they had up to date TRUE info.Frank Hawkins/Owner/DigitalDaydreams

I see they corrected last night to Q4 after a month. They still left *"We plan to pre-release Vue 6 Infinite and xStream during the month of October, 2006"
So where's that prerelease?*

can anyone see e-on's newsletter? I have been trying since yesterday morning, and it's a blank page. Hopefully they are trying to update it. :)
3DTurtle posted Wed, 01 November 2006 at 5:02 PM
I can't see the newsletter either.
They should at least tell us what stage they are at and why they are delayed! :sneaky:
If they decide to release P6 and Vue together, it will be quite a while:
In my poser emails, they are sending "7 reasons to get p7", each about a week apart.
And today, I just got "reason #4"!!! :cursing:
This stuff can really mess up your plans!

When you are done checking out, you get to your orders tracking page.
Do you wait for all 3 steps to be completed before you can start your download? (I am getting the free update deal)
Peggy_Walters posted Wed, 01 November 2006 at 8:36 PM
Got my copy downloaded and installed. If you have a slow connection, you may want to wait a bit for the boxed version. About 1.6GB files. Had problems with the ExtrasCD - keep getting a page not found. Will try again in the morning and see if works. Then will have to contact tech-support.
1st look - color scheme will take some getting use to. Lots and lots of new things everywhere you look. Painted with and eco system was a real joy! Can't wait to really dig in. Just wish I felt better. My asthma is kicking up big time. Need to get more medicine...
Happy time dance (in slow motion with lots of coughs...)

I think so. I came to the download page after all the steps to upgrade had been filled out and payed for.
It is so strange you know. I have had Vue since Vue 4, when I got a copy as a gift. I did not touch it, and set it on the shelf to learn to do someday when I had time and interest. Then I talked myself into upgrading to Vue 5 Infinate, and did so, but again set it on the shelf for almost a year before suddenly I wanted to learn it, last week, and got it down and got started. I waited almost till Vue 6 to discover Vue 5, LOL. I had no idea Vue 6 was about to be released though till a pal sent me a copy of a letter about it. Ah well, better late than never.

The Vue installer file is a small file that will download 2 BIG files. Once Vue has downloaded both files, it automatically extracts all the files just like they would be on the CD. After the files are extracted, then download the Extras CD.
Were you able to get the Extras CD? Even when they sent the email with the links (good for 5 days), I still get a page not found...

I am not sure Gothicwriter. It seems to me you should qualify, but don't take my word as I am the newbie around here, prone to all sorts of errors ;p
Did anyone else manage to get the Vue 6 Training movies loaded into their cart? I finally went out to the maker of the training videos, AsileFX and bought them there since I could not seem to find a way to purchase them directly from e-on.
BTW I bought the Vue 5 AsileFX training videos, 3 cd's of them, and they are excellent and well worth the money. I am thinking of trying to figure out how to write some kind of review or book report, so to speak, about them if I can, to let others know how good they are.

Rebel3d, I also have asilefx. I have bought all of them, except the tips and tricks for Vue5. They are excellent! :)

I bought the Getting Started with Vue 5 Infinate, and also Vol 1 and 2. I want to get Vol 3 soon too. Tonight I got the Whats New one for Vue 6 :) I have learned so much from them so far, and am not done viewing them yet, but am still going through them and learning :) I also really like their little sample product extra gifts they give too :)

gothicwriter, did you receive the newsletter? It's all explained in the newsletter. Check the link I provided earlier int he thread to get the newsletter and see if you qualifiy for free upgrade.

Quote - ddaydreams: did it say the serial number was not right or something?
Mine did say that they have to manually process due to inability to match the serial numbers. This is conjecture, but I will bet that they are using the regcode system that is linked to the Cornucopia store. I bought V4Pro as an early adopter, so I bet that is the code that isn't verifiable, and they have to look it up manually. Hopefully when I get home tonight, there will be a nice email with a nicer link all waiting for me...
Peggy_Walters posted Thu, 02 November 2006 at 8:01 AM
There are two numbers with each version of Vue that you have. The serial number and the INST code. When I typed the number in it said invalid serial number. I used the number from My Account on e-on's site and copy/pasted that into the field. Worked.
