In the next message of this thread are the award categories, and the direct links to the nomination threads for each category. PLEASE read the FAQs *before* making any nominations.

To cast a nomination (and/or to vote later), you need to sign on as a guest member at Delphi's Bryce forum. This is a free sign-up, and you will receive no spam as a result. However, I feel I must explain that the Delphi Forums are not merchant-supported/art-oriented forums such as here....they survive by either subsription memberships, or [I hate to say] advertisments. Be advised you may have to sift through a lot of annoying ads. If you truly cannot abide advertisements, but really, really wish to participate, contact me through the IM service here at this forum, and I will try to act as proxy. Please, try not to abuse this offer...I am only one person. grin

Golden Tori FAQs:

  1. Eligible picture are those made/first posted online between December 1st, 2005 and November 30th, 2006. Nominations are open from November 1st to November 30th, 2006. Voting occurs during December.

  2. This is a Bryce oriented award, so please be sure that the pictures you nominate qualify as 'Bryce'. Ie., if the artist lists Ve, or VaPo, or T*****n, or some other landscape program, but --NOT-- Bryce, it's not qualified. If you have doubts, check with the artist you plan to nominate, and see if he/she feels it is a Bryce picture.

  3. We DO accept multi-program pictures, with both pre- and post-work, (with one exception: in the Bryce-Only category). So, importing models made in other programs, and/or doing 'painting' in something like Photoshop, is permitted.

  4. Obviously, in the Bryce-Only category, we wish to showcase those artists who can get the maximum results from using, (you guessed it) only Bryce. No imported models, no post-work (except for sigs or border frames), etc.

  5. These awards are meant to recogize the best of the available artistic work done in Bryce. Please use critical judgement, and give us the best in your nominations.

  6. Any comments on the process, any suggestions, or just general chit-chat should go into the "Comments -- re: This Year's Toris" message thread.

  7. Yes, you can nominate yourself or one of your pictures for a category. This is expecially useful in the New Brycer category, since we don't always know who is new or not.

  8. You can nominate one picture to multiple categories. Just try to make your nominations fit the category descriptions.

I didn't catch this, but can you nominate  more than one image from a particular artist or yourself?

mboncher: Yes. Definitely so. The more nominations we get, the better the choices when it comes to voting. rayraz: Noted. 👍 tom271: 😕 The links are to the message threads where you place your nominations. Delphi doesn't have galleries of it's own. [Long story made short....we are the forum associated with the (now closed) Bryce Select Gellery] You have to go out and find pictures online, to nominate, then post the link in the appropriate thread.

tom271: I think I've figured out what you were asking....so far only one nomination has been entered, in one category. Since the nominations were only opened yesterday, and most people tend to browse their favorite galleries during the weekend, I wouldn't have expected more listings just yet. Besides, that's why we have all of November to make nominations in....foks don't like to be rushed too much.

Great contest to have. 😄 I hope there'll be more entries to look at soon. I've nominated myself for a few categories (lol) as I'm a relatively new Brycer.

There are two weeks left in the nominations period. By example of past years, we get a lot of our nominations during the Thanksgiving weekend, when people have time to spare for this. We deeply thank and appreciate those who have already visited, and posted. But if you need any help in locating great pictures, may I suggest: http://forums.prospero.com/bryce/messages/?msg=9937.1 This is a messages thread maintained throughout the past year, with bookmarked URLs of images that have cought our eyes as remarkable. Even if you don't want to nominate any of them, it's a nice and easy way to view some great art done this year!
