Oddity number 1:
I had a V3 and a character, plus a building  (also a figure in Poser terms) , in a scene.   I probably tracked through the preview display styles at some point and selected some kind of wireframe.   Not long afterwards, I saved the file and closed Poser.   When I re-opened Poser, I couldn't get the  V3 figure to appear as anything other than wireframe ("lit wireframe", I think)..   If I changed the preview style, only the building changed its appearance, regardless of what was selected.   I went back to the start and re-created the scene without a problem.   When I re-loaded the original scene, I had the original problem, again.

Oddity number 2:
This one involves the new Vue, but it's the way in which Poser 6 works that interests me.    I wanted to import a P6 file, to see how V6 coped with rendering it.  First, Vue put up the obligatory "You're 'avin' a giraffe" message about very low memory and did its job (quite well, apparently) of escaping a crash.   Then, Vue asked me to identify the source of numerous textures in the imported file.   That took a while, but I persevered.

When I created the P6 file, I started off with a V3 and injected Lisbeth's "Ametyst".   I did initially add the Ametyst textures, but then replaced them (I don't remember why) with Nouschka's "Shirin".   I then added a second V3 and applied Nouschka's "AnnaLena".   All of this worked fine in P6.

As far as I knew, the file that I tried to import to Vue contained 2 x V3, with the Ametyst and AnnaLena morphs and the Shirin and AnnaLena textures, since the Ametyst textures had been replaced by the Shirin ones.

When I attempted the import, Vue prompted me for a wide range of textures, including the Shirin, AnnaLena and Ametyst textures.

Sorry to be so long-winded, but my point is that Poser seems to retain references to textures that have actually been replaced.    Vue isn't to blame, I believe, since it was just trying to read the existing Poser file.

Any thoughts?

You can change the display mode of the individual figures by going to the "Display" pull down and under "Figure style" (for figures) and "Element style" (for props or parts of a figure)

these settings override the document style.

you (in this case) need to set the figure's "Figure style" back to "Use Document Style".

You can edit the PZ3 by hand (I recommend CR2Builder) and remove the erroneous texture references. Just make sure that "saved compressed files" is disabled in Poser before saving the file, since CR2Builder can't open compressed Poser files.

Are you sure the old textures are not used anywhere? Did you look in the material room? Check materials like nostrils and preview,.

Thanks for the suggestions.   I'll load up the documents in question and check.
