Checking through my archives last night, I found a few folks being a little obscure about their products. Little things like clothing sets with nothing telling you which figure they're made for. OK, so "sexy lingerie" isn't likely to be for Mike. And you can always check the Marketplace, if the item is still for sale. But it's a bit careless. So, rememmber to put something in the Readme. And a little picture would be useful.

Also, name your texture files individually - Poser 5 especially cannot cope with files named the same even if they are in different folders.
so instead of green.jpg - ? put your initials like AJ_green.jpg.
I don't know how many times I have had to rename textures & edit the pz2 myself - very irriating & these aren't old products either, but resent products from well known vendors.

As things are going today, nobody can be so sure about Mikes....
Stupidity also evolves!

One would think a product should not pass the marketplace testing with glaring errors like those! The texture name thing is something that has been talked about for ages here. Not stating who a product is for on it's store page is another huge omission that could make for unhappy customers and requests for refunds. How do you refer back to a readme to get help for a product, when it isn't titled with the name of the product? This is not rocket science. Let's get on the ball marketplace team!
I wish they would put links to required products, even if they happen to be on another site. There are a few things I'd like to purchase, but I refuse to go scrounging around the net or another site to locate it's required product so I'll pass it by.

This isn't just a Rebderosity problem, and in a couple of cases I've found the target character referenced in the Readme, buried somewhere near the end. And some of this stuff might be quite old. But some things that might scrape past checking could very easily be done better.

Those things aren't checked. And some of them, merchants are aware of and would like to do, but fear they won't pass marketplace testing if they do....such as, naming the read-me anything other than ReadMe (particularly stupid in my opinion, as that means you'll only ever have the read-me for the last thing you installed....!)

I've seen Renderosity products that have readme's named productx.readme.txt or readme_propnnn.txt, so I don't know why merchants would be concerned about naming their readme's like that. The texture naming thing is a "no brainer"! Don't use common texture names. This kind of thing is just as much Renderosity's fault as it is some Merchants and it's well past time for things to change.
