After a long time and a lot of personal changes in my life, I have to say that I will be stepping down as moderator for the Carrara forum. The change is needed for several reasons.
1.) I simply do not have the time needed to devote to the forum that it deserves. My life has taken a lot of turns since I moved across the country and stepping down from the forum is going to have to be another one of those changes.
2.) I'm a modeler. Not a poser. A large fraction of the issues with the forum have been Poser and Daz related and I'm plain and simply of ZERO help. This isn't fair to the forum either.
3.) The last year has been very interesting for me in the sense that other members have responded to 98% of the threads as well or as better than I could on an hourly basis whereas I have only been able to log on once a day at best. In other words, my personal touch hasn't been that practical.
4.) The forum needs a fresh charge. I'm hurting it at the moment.
I will still be around. I've been with Carrara since it was born and I'll stay with it a while longer. I'm very interested to see what will happen with the change to Daz. Naturally I want the software to continue to get better, more features, less bugs, etc.. We'll see what happens.
The staff is working on my replacement and I'm sure that change will come along in a few days. It's been a great ride and I've had a lot of fun! I've written tutorials, reviews, and magazine articles. All of it has been great! I'm glad to have met so many great Carrara users and I'm proud to have been a staff member of Renderosity.
All my best, keep rendering and absolutely most of all, have FUN!

Thanks for all the help you have given us--too much Poser and Brice in a couple of other forums drives me crazy too.
All the best.

More time to render more Star Trek scenes now. I can't wait to see them.

Thanks for being there in the last couple of years. I know how hard it is to manage spare time, when the things are a-changing. Hope to see you around! Good luck with everything!

Geez, Scott, that's too bad... for Rendo... Good for you, however, and MONDO good for us, since it means that you'll probably be able to do more posting of WIPs and stuff...
Best of luck in other matters, and we'll see you around the block!

Geez... a good modelor sounds like what the forum needs "as well as" some Poser knowledgeable coordinators. I just started coming here recently and yeah, my main program is Poser,, but heck, I'd really love to learn to model better. Could they not have just added some help for you like the Poser forum has with all it's moderators and coordinators? Not like it's a paid position anyway, so adding help wouldn't cost em' a dime. :m_thoughtful:

Thanks for you time and effort. I know all about not having enough time. My life has gotten a lot more complicated in the past four years and I don't get to play as much with my software as I wish. Good luck Kix.

Hey there,
I totally hear you there. I don't use Poser content either, and I wouln't know what do do to solve most Poser problems either. I also build all of my own content. That's part of being a hardcore DIY modeller, I guess.
You've done good, and you'll be missed.

Sorry to see you go. Thanks for your efforts. Being new to Carrara 5 Pro, I hate to see any drop in support, but you especially. Your tutorials and those of Mark Bremmer convinced me to go with Carrara. I have poured over the material you offered in the Backroom and have apreciated it very much.
Hope you manage to find the time to let us in on any projects you have going in regards to Carrara and best of luck in whatever you undertake.

Thanks for the years of help. I've been missing Carrara and this forum as of late and I come back to a change in the moderator. Good luck with all your future endeavors and I look forward to seeing your gallery grow as an active member (something I've not done!). Thanks much. - wisart

Since I've only had a chance to get back here a couple times in the past few months (personal issues for me as well,) I hadn't known you had left. But now that I do, I must say (belatedly,) you will be missed! Your help with the newbies (me at one time,) and the more advanced users who need help just as often. (Me again.. ;) )
Your attention to the details, (shadow quality testing, the intricite details on the Star Wars & Star Trek models, ) have been an ispiration.
Thank you for your time and help! And good luck with all your future renderings! (3D as well as 'Real life'! )
