Slow day at the office, so I thought I'd tinker with texturing my slow progressing wharf.
This is a test with procedurals. I remember once loooong looong time ago I made a procedural for a powerpole, where I had rings on top, and stripes down the side, and for the life of me, I can't remember where it is, or how I did it.
Rope isn't the best, but it's simple enough for far away renders. I think for closeups I would do image texture mapping instead of a procedural...
I'm thinking about making parts of the texture from procedurals, then compositing them into an image map.
