Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2025 Feb 27 7:24 am)
When making Poser 6 material collections (mc6) you can choose which material zones to include.
so you could make specific zones transparent.

I have some clothing I made, and I incorperated separate material zones to make it easier to get a variety of things out of one model by just making zones transparent -- ie long sleeves, short sleeves -- without making the user (or myself) have to worry about a transparency map if they don't want to.
The textures I created cover the full model, but is there a way I can edit down a material or matpose type file to just apply the different transparency settings on the clothes without affecting the applied texture?
I just don't want to have too many extra files. The pants have 4 different zones - short shorts, long shorts, capris and full length - and I really don't feel it's runtime effective to have a separate thing for each one....I know I sure don't want that many files for the same texture sitting in my runtime.
(and yes, I know it's easy to just go in and make something transparent on the user end....but I try to make my stuff as friendly as possible....because there's always someone new to Poser that may find the material room a bit scary)
Crazy alien chick FTW! (yeah....right....)
